Off Topic / Re: Favorite Movie of 2017
« on: December 18, 2017, 02:50:51 am »
I absolutely loved Logan Lucky. Super fun movie. It was my favorite movie of the year until I saw The Last Jedi, which now takes that spot.
1. The Last Jedi
2. Logan Lucky
3. Logan
4. Thor: Ragnarok
5. Baby Driver

Honorable mentions go to The Foreigner, Wind River, Guardians Vol. 2, Atomic Blonde, Pirates of the Caribbean; Dead Men Tell No Tales, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Lego Batman, Wonder Woman, The Big Sick, and Dunkirk.

Also saw Night of the Living Dead (1968), The Green Mile, and the Invisible Woman (1940) each for the first time this year and loved each of those.

Man, movies are great.

I've tried Minecraft multiple times but it never clicks. I just don't find it fun. I loved Legos as a kid, but Minecraft just doesn't do it for me.
I love how it plays into imagination for children and adults. Just not for me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Love that you're keeping track of all this soera.

So is the steam running out on Limited Run Games? The only game to have sold out today was the standard edition of La-Mulana. I would have thought Nex-Machina or either of the collector editions would have sold out.

Tiny Barbarian DX. Reminds me of Shovel Knight. Has kick-ass soundtrack.
It got a pretty sweet physical release with a manual and key chain.

If you missed the Limited Run version of Wonder Boy there will be another chance since Nicalis is going to release versions for PS4 and Switch.

Modern Video Games / Re: non-violent fun kid games for the 3ds

Looking at my collection, here are a few I can suggest.

Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion
Fossil Fighters (Though the Dinosaurs do fight)
Any of the Scribblenauts games
The Skylanders 3DS games (There is a 3DS portal needed)
Drawn to Life Collection
Elebits: The Adventures of Kai and Zero

Broken Age is up on Fangamer. Seems to be the leftover stock that Double Fine had.

General / Re: Do you buy games you know you probably won't play?
« on: October 05, 2017, 02:33:12 am »
Yep! Sometimes quantity wins over quality. Now granted, most games that would fall into this category I probably got for dirt cheap. Part of the fun of this hobby is that everything is playable, but not all of it has to be played. Plus picking out a random game that I probably wouldn't play and giving it a whirl can lead to fun discoveries.

Toy Story on Sega Genesis. While the game has some interesting ideas, ultimately it is another stupidly hard game from the 90s.

What's the verdict on Asdivine Hearts? I've never heard of it. The other JRPGs Limited Run has published like Dragon Fantasy or Mystery Chronicle didn't have the best reception.

Modern Video Games / Re: Guacamelee Physical (PS4) from VBlank $29.99
« on: August 21, 2017, 02:00:36 am »
I was hoping there would eventually be a physical for Guacamelee but I didn't expect it from VBlank. Hopefully they publish more down the road. I was impressed with their physical versions of Retro City Rampage. I went ahead and picked up the PC steelbook version of Guacamelee from GameStop so I can combine the two to make my own PS4 Collector's Edition soundtrack bundle.

Purchased The Crash Trilogy from Kamikazekeeg. The game arrived super quickly and was very well protected. Thanks again!
