Site Feedback / Adding items check box bug?
« on: March 10, 2011, 06:31:25 am »
If you select multiple items accross multiple pages(1/2/3 etc) it will only add the items from the current page you are on. any way to make it remember the checkboxes on teh previous pages?

General / Format to submit hardware?
« on: March 10, 2011, 06:28:17 am »
Is there a format for this?
Some stuff has been added including the color in the name? surly this cant be a good idea as there will be 1000's of variations added? You just need the region for each item DSi [JP], DSi [NTSC], DSi [EUR], then the color or whatever can be placed the comments section? just otherwise there will be loads of everything and it might get rather vast rather fast.

I know some versions/colors/styles of console are worth more than others buy thats what the details section is for isnt it?
Also things like the n64 rumble pack belong in peripherals/accessories dont they? Might be worth splitting Hardware down into Consoles/Peripherals?

Site Feedback / Name checking when adding a title
« on: March 10, 2011, 06:05:43 am »
Can we have some form of name checking implemented when you want to add something to teh database? Just have it check already exisiting entries for entrys with the same name on the same platform. Shoudl reduce the chance of dupelicates.

Site Feedback / Browse view a-z
« on: March 10, 2011, 05:41:21 am »
I think browse should really be sorted by letter/character as opposed to just having numbered pages. When the collections get large it will be a pain in the ass to find a perticular title if its just on a random numbered page.

You could do that depends on how you have the values stored in your database lol ;)
A neat feature for the future might be being able to see what other prices people have paid for the same item, although this may cause arguments lol

Site Feedback / My Cost Section

Not everyone is from the USA :D can we get localised prices? Or the option to select what currency we used to pay(drop box or something)? £,$,€,¥ at least, As more people join (hopefully anyway) there will be more people from more places around the globe.

Site Feedback / Re: Platform Regions

Looking better :D
The problem would still exist that its still a long list and I am sure more things will be added over time making it longer. having something along the lines of:

Parent page > Region page > List page

Might work a bit better as each page will be shorter.

That said its good :) and dosent need to really be a hugly high priority I guess as the functionality is all there like this.

Site Feedback / Platform Regions
« on: March 09, 2011, 06:49:42 am »
The way the regions work at the moment is a bit puzzling to me. As the database increases you are going have a massive amount of consoles listed each with 2/3 regions, would it not be better to have 1 option for each console then use a drop down or something similar to select the region? I know its basically an aesthetics thing but otherwise you are going to end up with a hugely long browse page. Or do something along the lines of you select your console then be displayed buttons for each region to take you to that section?

Just an idea :)

General / Intro thread
« on: March 09, 2011, 06:33:18 am »
I spotted that there is not actually an introduction thread on this site yet :D So I figured I would create one as I am new here.

Hi, I'm Wapedflash and collect a little bit of everything! Have small collections on a range of consoles but have got to the stage where I am looking to expand the software side of things :D

The original reason I suggested all 3 CD groups was the same as the reason for giving CD 32x games their own.... They wont work on just the CD hardware... Either way would be fine though I guess. Just for adding games into the database its more of a pain to go back and change th egroups later than it is to add them specifically.

The mega drive I have always known as the "Sega Mega Drive" (see the logo here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mega_Drive) am I'm from the UK but if there is a different offical name then no idea....
