General / Just a Friendly Reminder for all those with large collections
« on: September 28, 2018, 01:43:54 am »
Make sure it’s insured...

( Disclaimer: This is not my collection )

Saw this floating around online and thought to myself how something like this could be a reality for me as well since I have a large sum of games that I collected over the years... I'm sure plenty of us here have some pretty big collections.

I'm in the process of adding it into my policy but it always gets delayed. I think after seeing something like this I'm gonna speed up the process, heh.

Feel bad for the dude though...  :-\

https://gematsu.com/2018/09/castlevania-requiem-symphony-of-the-night-rondo-of-blood-rated-for-ps4-in-korea

"The Korean Game Rating Board has rated Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood for PlayStation 4 (Japanese, English).

While Castlevania publisher Konami has yet to announce such a title, it sounds like a collection including the 1997-released Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and 1993-released Castlevania: Rondo of Blood."

Saw this news a few days ago and didn't see a mention here on this forum so thought I should share :) Seems like Konami is finally doing something with their Castlevania franchise again, but more importantly Rondo is getting a Western Release! ( Outside of Virtual Console that is. And the PSP remake doesn't count since it requires unlocking - which is very cool mind you ). I understand it is only rated for PS4 at the moment, but here's hoping for a Switch version - And do I hope it's a physical release... A collector's box would be nice too because the concept art for Symphony alone is well worth it.

Even though I own and played the originals multiple times one can never get enough of Castlevania. Possibility that Konami release two more versions - A Triple Pack for the GBA titles and one more for the DS titles?

What do you guys think after news like this, possible?

------- UPDATE -------

Well there you have it folks - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk6QrgmJLm4

PS4 Exclusive - Digital only for $19.99 on 26 Oct 2018

https://www.konami.com/games/castlevania/eu/en/page/history_2018_x_son_rob#menu-top

"Both games are the originals emulated for the PlayStation 4, with several updates that take advantage of the new hardware. This includes 4K/1080p upscaling, multiple high resolution backgrounds, different rendering options such as smoothing and full Trophy support. Word of warning though, that Platinum will be tough to get. Elsewhere, Requiem will make use of the DualShock 4’s vibration, analogue stick and speaker, with the latter meaning you’ll hear a cool little chime when you pick up an item."

These are the details we have so far... Damn, was hoping for a physical release, and on the Switch too. Let's hope this is not set in stone and a physical gets announced in the near future...

Modern Video Games / Resident Evil 2 Cover & Collectors Edition Revealed
« on: August 01, 2018, 05:44:50 am »
Actually revealed a few days ago, but didn't see a thread about here. Seems like it's a Gamestop exclusive for now going at $200. Quite high honestly but the Leon Statue does look nice, especially the detail.

I just might cave and get this, I haven't got a collector's edition in a while, but RE2 is one of my favorite games of ALL TIME!  :P

Plus the amount of DLC costumes is good too since I always re-play these type of games changing the outfits in different play-throughs. The last RE game was solid and enjoyed my experience with it even though it was a different formula.

Anybody else thinking about picking this up?

Here's a bonus pic of Claire on a Harley - I do like her re-design here compared to Revelations 2.

Site Feedback / PlayStation Network (PS4) [NA] titles Bug
« on: December 24, 2013, 07:04:31 am »
Hey guys, just a heads up, I uploaded a few PSN (PS4) titles and there seems to be a slight bug, It's listed correctly as PlayStation Network (PS4) [NA] titles but the individual headers still has it as PSN (PS3) [NA]. I took a screen cap and labeled it so you can get a better understanding of what I mean. Blue is the correct parts, then red is the part that still states PS3.

The images I used are directly from the PS4 PSN store for consistency.

Didn't see this posted here, thought I share with you guys and gals; Lords of Shadow 2 Dracula's Tomb Premium Edition. Looks mighty fine, I'm a sucker for nice artbooks and steel cases.  :P

"Leading the line is a ‘Dracula’s Tomb Premium Edition’ which is beautifully encased in a tomb casing, contains a copy of the game, four highly detailed miniature figurines designed by comic book artist Neil Googe (Judge Dredd, Wildcats), an A4 hardcover art book, and an exclusive Steelbook™. This stunning item is limited to just 30,000 units across Europe and will be available in the UK exclusively via GAME."

Lucky for fans in the UK

"KONAMI has also created an alternative steelbook edition for pre-orders from Zavvi, which is encased in a metallic cover featuring an exclusive image of its central figure, Dracula. Those pre-ordering will also receive the alternate ‘Premium Dracula’ suit, a ‘Dark Dracula’ costume, or a ‘Relic Rune’ pack, that adds a wealth of relic items to the user’s inventory, dependent on where it is pre-ordered."

Looks like I might have to order online for that steelbook case.

Here's a link to the high-res artwork on the cover for anyone interested:

Site Feedback / A Now Playing List or Backlog List
« on: October 26, 2013, 05:30:13 am »
Want to start off by saying I really like the community here at vgcollect, the topics are interesting in the forums, no trolls or elitism regarding which system is better or what not. Just a community of people that are really passionate about video games. It's rare to see and I greatly appreciate a place like this  :D Everyday I'm here browsing collections or at the NeoGaf forums as well, fun place to be.

I understand this place is an ongoing project and a lot of great things are happening, my suggestion would be if a "Now Playing" list can be added in perhaps? This day and age I believe a lot of people have huge backlogs with game sales happening everywhere and steam sales, people are racking up quite the backlog. I find it hard sometimes to see which games I still have left to play, heh. Maybe a "Now Playing" list to show what games we are playing to keep track of and what we want to play down the line. If there is a "Now Playing" list already implemented and I just missed it please let me know, heh.  8)

Other than that this is a brilliant site especially for collectors, I find it very relaxing just cataloging my game collection.

cheers

edit: changed the title of the topic to Backlog list too
