Modern Video Games / Wii Vitality Sensor Has Been Canceled
« on: July 06, 2013, 01:28:22 pm »
the controller with the interesting idea has been canceled and to quote satoru iwata on why its canceled

"After a large-scale test of a prototype inside the company, we found out that for some people the sensor did not work as expected.

We pushed forward its development on the academic assumption that by observing the wave patterns of the human pulse, we could quantify how tense or relaxed a person is, Or, to be more specific, how much the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves work as functions of the autonomic nerve.

The Wii Vitality Sensor is an interesting device and we did various experiments to see what is possible when it was combined with a video game. But, as a result, we have not been able to launch it as a commercial product because we could not get it to work as we expected and it was of narrower application than we had originally thought.

We would like to launch it into the market if technology advancements enable 999 of 1000 people to use it without any problems, not only 90 out of 100 people

Off Topic / Refuse to Watch
« on: June 22, 2013, 12:06:28 pm »
is there a movie or actor that you refuse to watch and why?

the lorax: i grew up watching the original cartoon and as a kid i liked it, now that i'm adult i realized that there more to the cartoon then colorful animation and music.
in its 25 minute running time, its has a lot of environmental politics in it and it talks about how theres two sides of the argument (environmental & economic), there's no villain in the cartoon and both characters are treated equally wrong but in different ways and the cartoon ends with a biblical reference .

the new movie looks neutered, pandering to children and ripping out all of the stuff that made the original cartoon and book interesting, they added a stereotypical villain and  teenagers to be "relatable", this could've been a smart movie but instead its pandering and PC

killer instinct has not even been release and it all ready a failure, the new KI will be digital only and will only have one character (jago) and the rest will be DLC that you will have to pay for and if that's not bad enough for you, according to IGN the "move sets" are "simple"

General / Overrated Games
« on: May 18, 2013, 05:03:02 am »
a while ago i asked what movies are overrated and now i'm asking what games are overrated

fear: it has a 88 on metacritic. its so bland, boring and not vary scary. 90% of the scares are just cheap and lazy jump scares and the gameplay is bland and boring. i think the slow motion thing was supposed to be the thing that separates itself from the fps pack but it gets old vary quickly and dosent improve the overall quality of the gameplay. overall its a vary mediocre fps with a decent story and atmosphere also lacks any scares
