The only games there I have is Uncharted 3 and Resistance 3.

I have a noob question. I've never played online with PS3 before, so after they came out with PS+, can you still play these old PS3 games online for free?

What games were crushed?

Take your pick. Everything from my Magic Knight Rayearth, to Halley Wars, to Swagman. Any kind of game I order, busted up when I get it. I can't count on not ONE PS1 game case not being completely curb stomped and shattered.

Oh man, I totally understand. I've wanted to smack my mailman for stupid crap before. And complaining to the post office does nothing.

Then maybe I should complain directly to him if I catch him stopping by again. If it comes to that it's not going to be a nice conversation, either. It'll quickly escalate into a conversation about soldering irons and faces if he denies negligence on his part. If it doesn't stop I'm going to start calling every damn day to the post office and recommending his termination. This guy has been destroying my stuff for sooo long and it's done this time. No more putting up.

That's what I did when I lived in Atlanta. Now, before I moved there, I never had any bad experiences with receiving packages in the mail. They all came in perfectly lovely. By the time I got to Atlanta, packages arrived in smashed conditions. The first time I thought it was a fluke. The second time I was mad.

So I left a note in my mailbox. It was firm, caustic, but at the same time it was fair. Since then, they never arrived in bad condition.

I say try that first before resorting to verbal abuse. XD If things don't change after that, then...well...make sure you film him so you can get some footage of his nonsense.

I've got a couple of post offices to visit. I'm just going to tell them that my packages always arrive crushed and maybe they'll consider being more careful. I know how postal workers are with packages, I've seen them treat ones I ship off like footballs right in front of me because they don't want to walk over to the bin. It's a good thing that I always package to survive a nuclear war because I know that's what it takes, and I've never had a single damaged item report, but unfortunately most just stick stuff in a thin bag and mail it off like it's nothing.

Come to think of it, another problem is that most people who ship games don't use first class mail!!! Why?! Everything in first class is less than 13 ounces! It's the cheapest option too.

My criteria is - Does it look like a cool game? -> Am I really interested in playing it? -> Is the price right for me? -> Is it in acceptable condition?

For methods, I buy loose carts, and make my own boxes/packaging for them, and try to stick with only complete games for discs and modern handheld. Acceptable condition to me just means it wasn't clearly abused. It doesn't have to be near mint. Also, I am cheap and on a budget and that impacts my methods quite a bit. I buy games as cheap as possible, and hold out as long as I can stand to for a good opportunity to buy them for less.

I create and research a wishlist for each console and then prioritize based on which game for each looks the most interesting, and that is the next game I will seek out. I also pick up lower priority ones if spotted for the right price. The only time I might buy blindly, is if it's the odd $1 per game kind of situation.

The reason I own something like just Mega Man 3 is because it's literally the only one I've ever found at the right price for me. I've played many of them before, but still not willing to spend between $40 - $170 each to have all of them in my collection. I'm probably just going to pick up the PS2 Mega Man collections instead because it doesn't look like I'm ever going to find any more just floating around.

With their shipping rates? I doubt it. Ship one game FedEx and you've probably paid 3 months of a PO box.

I just don't want this guy handling my mail anymore, at all. Maybe I need a PO Box. It's a shame it has to come to that.

How quickly people forget this is all opinion and start counting numbers and comparing them like there is something to prove. I don't care if it's exclusive or not, Japanese or action, Xbox had a competent RPG department, as well it was more than competent in many other areas. I don't quite buy that you can't find a single good reason to like Xbox. Unless you're the type to say you also hate Nintendo. Some people only like one console because it caters to their specific tastes more than anything else.

Stating that you hate Xbox and then fighting tooth and nail to prove it has not a single RPG good enough for you personally sort of reveals a vendetta. Who wants to admit there is a single redeeming quality to something they've declared they hate? Your story is that you hate it, and now it becomes your mission.

I don't really care if you hate it or not, there is no sense in arguing what someone has already made up their mind about.

Off Topic / Anyone here filed a complain with their local post office?
« on: January 28, 2015, 01:04:41 am »
I've really, finally had enough this time. I can't recall how long ago it has been since I received a package from eBay where the game inside wasn't crushed. Every single one, and every type of game I order, crushed, crushed, and crushed. I've put up with it far too long, and I'm fairly confident in saying that it is my postman. The guy struggles to get in and out of his vehicle he's so overweight, and he breaks a sweat carrying a package 10 feet, I don't know how he has the job still. But it's got to stop.

Problem is, I don't know what to do exactly. Do I just go to the service desk and ask to file a complaint? There are many post offices near me, but the one my packages come to first before being delivered to me is actually not the post office for the town I live in which is confusing. I want to do this in person so that it actually counts for something. I've started taking pictures of every crushed item I retrieve so that when I go, I can show them what I'm putting up with.

Any ideas? Suggestions? Can I ask to have all packages addressed to me left at the post office so that I can come pick them up?

Most Ubisoft games I buy come out of bargain bins, I don't think I've ever bought one of their games at launch. Had the chance to pick up Assassins Creed II and III the other day for $18 and decided to just pass on it. Think my money is better spent elsewhere.

Hmm... can't really pick just one. I'm not good at "best" type questions. I can't simply rank things that I am fond of. Such questions make me feel like I imagine some parents might if you ask them which of their children do they love the most.

Perhaps watching my brother play SMB2 on old console TV we had way back in the day... maybe getting Super Punch Out for my B-day one year, countless hours spent playing FaceBall 2000 and Gradius III... or the summers spent playing co-op Duke Nukem 64 and GoldeEye with friends and family. Honorable mention dates back about six years prior when I first got back in to all of this and started collecting and really discovering so many games and consoles and going out to flea markets, at the same point picking up my DSi with Rhythm Heaven and just having so much enthusiasm for the DS among other consoles. Good times. :)

The first time I spent my own money on a console it was buying my own Dreamcast, because the one we had in the house was being hoarded constantly to feed someone else's Fantasy Star Online addiction. Bought it for about $65 at KB Toys when they were clearing them out. Unfortunately I was too stupid to really buy any games with it, because I was convinced just burning games was the way to go.

so dumb, so dumb, so dumb, soooo!!!
