Suggestion: One page per game.

I know! I'm new! I really hate it when I do this but I do think it's a good idea.

So, here's the thing. If I want to add (let's say) Resident Evil 4 to my collection, the first thing would be to search the game. Right now, searching for Resident Evil 4 gives me 7 options. While not confusing since I know which edition I'm going to add, the results can become quite cluttered.

So, how about creating one page for each game and in that page we select which edition we want to add/edit. We could use a criteria (like date, popularity, etc..) to pin one of the editions as the default one (mainly for the purpose of showing basic info).

If you still have doubts, check this out:

We have, 3 consoles (PS3, 360, PC) and under each one two editions: Normal and CE. That's 6 entries on one page. At the end of the day we would have the same functionality, but with an easier way to search for an item.

What do you guys think?

I like this idea but there is a lot of back end work that'd have to be done to make it happen. We'd have to create a way to group items together. This is something I want to do eventually but it's definitely low on the priority list. I'd love to be able to group games by franchise, developer or any other data.

This could definitely work, but I think @matt is right putting it as low priority. Once the advance search options are implemented, we'll easily be able to cut down on the clutter by first searching only for our region, then for a specific platform. I can't wait!
