pokemon gba question
« on: April 11, 2013, 03:10:09 pm »
A guy over craigslists wants to sell me his  pokemon on GBA. I notice that a lot over eBay come from japan for a lot cheaper. Are the ones the Japanese selling fake/reproduction(I always figured they are) and if they are how can you tell the real from the fakd on these? Are the ones from japan all that kinda see through color?

I'm not sure about the Japanese cartridges but 4 of the easiest ways are the color, the label, the back, and the contacts.

it's a little hard to tell but the color of the one on the left is a little lighter shade of gray and you might see fonts are off on the label (gameboy advance logo for this one)

the font on the back of the cartridge will tend to be larger and not as bold

finally the nintendo logo should appear like this above the contacts

Not like this

Hope this helps

here's an article about how to spot fake pokemon gba games:

http://caggames.weebly.com/how-to-spot-a-fake-pokemon-gba-game.html

generally, don't buy games you think are underpriced. a pokemon gba game for 5$ is probably fake, 10-15$ probably not. and don't buy it if it's from Japan/China. had to learn it the hard way  ;)

Another good way to tell is if it doesn't save.
