Sega game gear Sonic 2 made in

I have two versions one made on Japan and one in Taiwan.  Can't find any other differences in label or game.  Any ideas?

Many Game Gear games can come with different stampings.

For the two Game Gear games I have that I know have different stampings (Sonic Chaos, Sonic 2) both of these have a Majesco re-release. It could be that one signifies original vs re-release. I do not know if there is a dedicated list of the different versions, but you may want to register and ask on sms-power:
