Storm of the Century is about a catastrophic blizzard and a villain with a naughty list, so it's basically Christmas viewing. Probably the second best of the glut of King mini-series we got in the 90s and 00s (with The Stand being #1). Great performances from Tim Daly and especially Colm Feore, but a lot of the supporting cast weighs it down with terrible Mainer accents and kid actors are terrible down to a one. It's biggest strength is the fact King wrote it directly for TV, so it doesn't feel like so many bits and pieces are missing like so many of the others.
Silo is a Young Adult dystopia melodrama masquerading as a prestige television show. Its got a huge stacked cast, killer production value, but a ton of the writing is downright juvenile. Just finished the first season, but I can't recall another show that liked this much actively trying to make me annoyed.
Finally got around to The Acolyte, which I liked more than I expected. The premise is really strong, there are some decent character beats, and killer action. It does have some big issues, though. The lead sisters aren't particularly compelling, and the central mystery isn't all that mysterious which really jacks with the pacing. Better than Ahsoka, Boba Fett, and Kemobi, but not anywhere close to Andor or S1 Mando.
Second season of Squid Game isn't nearly as good as the first, but is still solidly entertaining television. I thought the first two episodes were the strongest, with the show falling back into a little bit of rut when the actual games start again feeling a bit too much like a rehash of the first season.
The two movies that make up the second "season" of Hornblower are both very solid, and even with a lower budget, its strengths make-up for its shortcomings.
Second season of Castlevania: Nocturne is a bit of a step up from the first. Just a bit more consistent better pacing, and then a totally killer climax in the final 2 episodes.
