Just had a listing rejected for a UK version of Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion because it says the listing already exists.
The only EU version i could find listed was a Spanish version, with the Spanish subtitle.

Does this mean that if the versions are both EU but have different box arts and languages that they stay as the same listing?

Sorry if i've caused any confusion, just started listing my games and am unsure as to the ins and outs of the site at the moment  :)

Was also just about the add Battle Princess Madelyn PS4 NA kickstarter version, but am now worried that it'll get rejected to.
My argument is that the LRG version and the kickstarter version are different because the kickstarter version has a reversible cover.
Would this likely be rejected as well?

I'm not following you. Is this the Adventure Time item you made?
https://vgcollect.com/item/176055
If the reject you mean is that you tried to put [UK] in the name, and this was rejected, is normal. A UK game in an EU category should not have [UK] in the title unless there is a different European English version that was also released. If you try to put [UK] onto a title, 99% of the time you will get an edit rejection that says "information already on file."

For Battle Princess Madelyn PS4 NA. There are 3 versions that I can tell.
- white cover
- dark cover
- box

What I do not know is if the white or dark cover is what is inside of that box. So there is the possibility of there being 2 or 3 entries for this in the db.

I tried clicking on that link and it just takes me to my activity feed, which apparently has nothing on it  XD

No the problem that i had with the listing for Adventure Time was that the only EU copy i could find listed on this site, was a fully French cover with the French subtitle. I initially thought it was Spanish.
The game is called Adventure Time Pirates of The Enchiridion
The French version is called Adventure Time Les Pirates de la Terre de OOO

So i made a version for the EU with the title Adventure Time Pirates of The Enchiridion and put [UK] in the titles, since it seems like each region in the EU (UK was included in the EU at the time) had different covers depending on what language was used.

But it now seems like my listing has made it back onto the site, someone has taken the [UK] bit off the titles, and now that's ok?
https://vgcollect.com/item/176055

So it seems like my listing wasn't removed but altered? Very odd  :/

As far as i'm aware with the case of Battle Princess Madelyn, the kickstarter varient had a reversible cover that the LRG version did not. I will do some research and modify this post as a find more info. If anyone else has info, please let me know  :)

EDIT: The LRG version is the white cover. However when they packed the kickstarter backer copies, they also put the white cover out on the front when they sealed them. The kickstarter exclusive version has a reversible cover, the kickstarter cover (Madelyn in the foreground, with her ghost dog near her legs) and on the reverse the LRG cover (the white cover).

So in short, kickstarter version is reversible, LRG version is white cover only.

Which means that if most people want to actually see there kickstarter varient cover, you'll have to unseal it to reverse it yourself.
>.<

EDIT 2: It also means that the listing for Battle Princess Madelyn PS4 should have 2 listings, and the one that's currently on the site is the kickstarter exclusive version and not the LRG one.

Urgh i've also just notice that i added an Alekhine's gun EU PS4 version to the list when there already is one.

Sadly when you try and search Alekhine's Gun in the search bar, nothing appears until you type the full word 'Alekhine's', and even when i tried to add an EU PS4 version it told me that there was no other listing for it, so i figured 'hey someone's not added this, i'll do the site a favour and add it myself'.

How wrong i was  :/

Seems like you have to search for the full title, word for word, with added punctuation (including things like umlauts) to even get them to appear in the search bar. Urgh, just adding games to my collection is going to be harder than i thought.

Any way someone can remove my extra Alekhine's Gun EU version from the site?
I'll be far more careful and thorough going forward.
I apologise for any and all inconvenience to those that run the site.

These listings with both image variants in the item are incorrect, no?
https://vgcollect.com/item/146247
https://vgcollect.com/item/139882

There is still some lack of consensus on how we are treating these dual cover art releases from LRG and Hard Copy Games, and how they are named, too.

Removed the covers for these. As far as I know, we treat the cover variants as separate items since they come factory sealed that way. The LRG stuff is a nightmare in general and I thank you for going through and trying to fix a lot of these listings.

Your first visit to the site of the day, if you had checked the box to "remember me" when you login, will redirect you to the activity feed. So you may have to click a link twice.

For searching, using your example, you can search like so:
Alekhine
https://vgcollect.com/search/Alekhine
or
"Alekhine's"

Ok, thanks for clarifying. I was told that games from Hard Copy Specifically (but also LRG) had their own names based on their website listings, but it's been my understanding that these listings do not say (Original Cover) or (Alternate Cover) on the box so we can't put that designation in the title.

So for this game I had one edit accepted to change the name and one rejected

https://vgcollect.com/item/169264 <- I submitted an edit to make this one consistent and put "Original Cover" in the alt-name, just wanted to let you all know ahead of time

Prototype - Platinum [EU] PS3
https://vgcollect.com/item/111211
A Frankenstein entry:
Cover picture is a pre-release one since real cover has PS3 slim style logo.
(Links for real covers Pegi rated: https://porvoonpelikauppa.fi/assets/shop/images/items/e4/e41926c5651327072853a5e5a0f2de18_medium.jpg

Bar-code is from BBFC rated UK release (I own that release) whereas rating is listed as Pegi rated.

In general, terms like "original cover" and "variant cover" are going to be rejected on an edit, even if put into alt-name field. To alieviate this, put into the description where this name comes from, at the same time as trying to put a marketing name into alt-name. Such as "this item was sold on 'x company's website' as 'this dumb name'..."

Changed to NL version. To presume original intent, somnlegacy added the rating and back text manually (you can tell, shift typo in text), so it clears it up as to what release it is. If the UK release is added to the db, this item can be [NL] and the UK one will have no TLD.

Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance [ES]

https://vgcollect.com/item/176509

The front cover is real. This site is weird now, because I can't submit more than 1 cover picture, but the front cover has a Australian rating, but the manual and back cover is Spanish. A misprint, sure, but one, that exists.

Also, it's not an Australian copy, as it doesn't say "Licenced for sale in Australia and New Zealand Only".

It seems the normal release is en-gb/fr-fr languages for the AU release.
I can find the es-es language AU release only being sold on Ebay Spain.
In Ebay Italy, there is an it-it language AU release however there is an SAIE label present.

For this Spanish language version to be able to be put into EU category, it would need to have an import label present, or some documentation that it was actually sold. TLD is not reflective of what language is on the case. Language would use ICU locale codes, but we do not currently use them on the site.
