I think my most expensive is Ar Nosurge Plus or No No Kuni White Wizard edition, but the rarest might be Super Destronaut or I am the Hero.

why did this topic seem to get heated all of a sudden? all I said is that I love sports games, didn't say I was going to hog them or make a fortune off them

there's plenty of enjoyment, from the retro ones like @sworddude said and there is plenty of them for collectors alike thay can also make great party games as well

No one is being heated, I am just speaking frankly regarding the availability and desirability of those games.  And, since this topic is about rare games, it’s pertinent.

There usually are a few rare sports games though. I don't know how, but every console has that odd soccer game worth a small fortune because they didn't print many.

Oh, for sure!  Just look at Hello Kitty Racers or whatever.  My post prior to the quoted one here says that it is “by and large” the case, but there will always be that one or two.

Well, excluding games with limited online retail (such as those by Limited Run Games), re-releases by Tectoy (like 2017's Turma da Mônica na Terra dos Monstros) and cartridges that were never sold to the public (as the Game Processor RAM Cassette https://vgcollect.com/item/124260), I'd say that the rarest games I own (although not necessarily the most expensive) are probably Gundam Tactics: Mobility Fleet 0079 (https://vgcollect.com/item/121342) for the Apple Pippin and Virtual Cameraman 2 for the Pioneer LaserActive (https://vgcollect.com/item/69203). Two crappy games released for two failed consoles...

Apparently, the most expensive game I own (although far from being the rarest... it is actually pretty common around here) according to eBay seems to be The King of Fighters '98 for the Neo Geo AES.

Not sure I have that many "Rare" games in my collection but from what I have read about it,  my copy of Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence Limited Edition would probably be my most rare game because I think Gamestop had to limit or deny preorders for it because so few copies were produced.  I was lucky to get a copy day one.
Time to make the donuts!

It's not so rare loose, but I own a slightly crushed sealed copy of Pokémon Crystal, which is hard to come by nowadays, I guess.

Not particularly rare given it's a Pokémon game, but it happens to be one of the games in the series that's the most pricey when it's complete, never mind sealed (even if slightly crushed).

Crystal was actually one of the last games I bought at Toys"R"Us years ago, as well as one of the many games I had where I stupidly discarded the box, and quite possibly one of my biggest regrets.

I know your every move behind this face; I have control over expendable slaves.
