Edit: Complete list in the comments.

|START》》|

Right now I am trying to collect all the games I find good enough or just interesting for the PlayStation 2, but since I dont want to have a wall text in the booknote of the cellphone I made this thread so I can post a list of the games I consider worth it and would be a nice addition to the collection.

I am open to the idea of also include ok games if they are not pretty good but enjoyable and bad/shovelware games if they are so bad are actually good, I have multiple ideas for this list and I certainly hope everyone can comment their favorites games and just make a good list for everyone that want to collect games for the PS2.

Notes:

- The list will be alphabetical order, alongside the name of the game I will put a really short personal mini review, but if you want to write a long review of a game that you truly like and recommend I will include it alongside the name of the game inside a spoiler.

- Japanese and European games will be included in a different list for avoid confusion also because the PS2 is not region free.

- Don't hesitate to comment and mention if you think a game I consider decent is actually not that good, if your argument is actually well built I will consider remove it from the list.

- Don´t be afraid of comment a wall text will all the games that you like from the PS2, Go ahead, make my day.

- Suggestions are welcome for make a better list.

- All games included were previous tested or beat.

- If a game if not in the list is pretty possible because I havent played it or I didnt had the time to include it.

- NA = North America, EUR = Europe, JPN = Japan.

The rank list I am using is:

- Good
- Decent
- Ok
- So bad is good.

For avoid favoritism about games that I love and don't make other good games less interesting I prefer to include everything that is good inside just a "good" label, everything that I consider decent is a fine game that I consider worth it even if it's not perfect, and ok is possible a flawed game with stuff I consider enjoyable or some good points.

Recommendable and interesting PS2 games

Number NA

- 18 Wheeler American Pro Trucker - decent - An arcade trucker game by Sega that was ported to console by Acclaim, just like Outrun it feels a lot like a racing game for chill while driving and avoiding other vehicles.

187 Ride or Die

7 Wonders of the Ancient World

Number EUR

- 7 Blades - Good - An early hack n slash with two campaigns and a pretty japanese folkrole it is also one of these games where everyone but your character dies.

Number JPN

Letter A NA

- Aqua Aqua - Good - A sequel from Wetrix on the N64, It is a puzzle game about building mountains and save water from leaking, it is pretty difficult but actually good, tutorial is a pain, though.

- Adventures of Cookie and Cream - Good - A 3D platforming game by From Software from those times when they werent making Dark Souls and Dark Souls and Dark Sou...

- Activision Anthology - Good - A collection of Activision games for the Atari 2600, it includes a lot of games and some interesting extras like manuals, tech demos and prototypes of unreleased games.

- Alien Hominid - Good - A run and gun with sympathetic graphics that used to be a flash game from 2004, it is obviously inspired by Metal Slug and is actually harder than I expected.

- Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro-Am - Ok - Frankly the game itself is not pretty good, it is like a simple beat em up with simple racing and simple golf, but it includes the original voices of the characters and a brand new exclusive episode of the show, so maybe that is enough for fans and pay the 5 bucks people ask for it.

- Airforce Delta Strike - Good - A fighting air combat game, it includes a lot of different machines and a based mission progression for the story mode, the music and voice acting is also pretty good and curiously the game is playable with a special controller that resembles a real control panel from a jet, truly underrated.

- Army Men: Soldiers of Misfortune - Ok - It is not a reboot or something, but for some reason instead of using a green soldier with real weapons, your character is a child with a strong imagination, the game is pretty basic and pretty easy, but for some reason it give me nostalgia, for 5$ I think it is entertaining and enjoyable while it last.
Letter A EUR

- Altered Beast - Decent - A gritty reboot of Altered Beast, instead of the fantasy greek aura of the original game and sequel this one is more like an action Serie B movie where your character is a man that because of bio-implants can mutate and transform into beasts for overkill everything in sight, it is a standard beat em up but I think is good enough for recommend it, for some reason the NA version was canned.

Letter B NA

- Beatmania - Good - One of the few Beatmania games that were released for NA, it also include the giant Beatmania controller, it is a rhythm game that is also pretty popular in japan.

- Beyond Good & Evil - Good - The developer team actually put a lot of love and brilliant ideas making the game but at the time it actually sold kinda poorly, it's an action game with pretty good ideas and some truly clever moments, they are making a sequel right now even if it doesn't look too much like the original canned sequel.

- Bully - Good - An open world game but this time with a college student that is just trying to survive the high school, the dialogues of the game are sometimes truly hilarious cringe and the missions are interesting because they involve the protagonist coexisting with other students and even the evil adults, it includes a lot minigames, collectables, dialogues and more interesting a respect system involving you being kind or an A-hat with the people around you, it is actually pretty good.

Letter B JPN

- Bouken Jidai Katsugeki: Goemon - Good - It's a reboot of the franchise, this time you play with a child Goemon that is always accompained by a little tiger, the story is actually a bit serious and the game is actually extremely good, it indeed feels a lot like a platforming game with some elements from Zelda, it even has some of the best and most creative levels I have ever seen in a videogame, a North American version was planned for 2004 but is strongly rumoured it was canned by Sony because the obviously 2000 ps2 game graphics.

- Note: I got tired, I will add more games later.

- Answering to @koemo1

If you want to write a mini review and say if the games are good, great, ok or decent I will add them to the list.

I heard 7 Sins is one of the very few erotic games for the console but watching it myself I thought it was pretty tame.

10000 Bullets I heard is actually pretty great but I never played it.

I don't want this to be spam, but these PS2 games are more then one game together on one disc,  all of these titles can be found on the PlayStation 2 (in north America)  some of these game compilations  can also be found on the Nintendo GameCube and the Original Xbox as well (high recommend them)

(ALL GREAT) in my own opinion

Scarface: The World Is yours

The most underrated PS2 game in my opinion. Upon hearing the title, lots of people assume it's just some lazy tie-in game for Scarface. It is far from it. It's an open-world game in the style of Grand Theft Auto, yet it is quite distinct from it in many ways. The game is absolutely amazing. No thread can well explain how good it is. I'll try to sum it up roughly.

Game mechanics:
The shooting mechanics are the best shooting mechanics of any game of that generation, period. No joke. It's hard to explain how well done it is because english isn't my native language and I don't wanna bother trying to explain such a concept, but you just have to try it with every weapon in every situation and you will understand, there is just too much to say. Driving is awesome as well and very well done. Handling is just right, but again you'll have to try it to understand. Other than that, you can mod weapons, hire henchmen, mod your crib (place any object anywhere you want), buy and upgrade property, do drug deals (big and small, with completely different ways to do them depending on the scale), there is a music player in-game where you can select tracks to play and even create custom mixtapes. There is much, much more, but all of this ain't even the best part yet.

Setting and atmosphere:
This is the number one reason to why this game is absolutely unforgettable. This game is the ultimate chill out game. Have you ever been playing a game and just stopped to contemplate the moment? Shooting bad guys is awesome but sometimes you'd like to just sit back and play chill..

Picture this:
You are playing Scarface: The World is Yours late at night. You are sitting on your couch, cozy, lights are dim. In the game, it's the 1980s, you are driving your car on a road at the cost of a tropical island. Billy Ocean - Caribbean Queen is playing on the radio, as you are arriving to a coast village. You stop your car at a gas station and just leave it there, and start walking to the nearby docks (as the music keeps playing because the game lets you play music on foot as well). As you walk in the village, you chat with some passerbys, before eventually boarding your boat and "driving" towards the sunset. You arrive at Miami on a small private beach behind some hotel. There are campfires and people dancing/chatting. Music changes to some reggae and you spend the evening having conversations with the people outside. Eventually, late in the night, you call up one of your cars and go for a spin. You drive to a different hotel downtown and go up the elevator. Up there, in a huge private suite, there are once again plenty of people having fun, dancing and socialising. Through the windows of the suite, you see the city at night from above. You feel young and nostalgic. The world around you and the moment you are living is just unforgettable. This is the life.

The game has an absolutely insane number of enterable buildings and areas that will just make you stop and contemplate the moment. Outside the buildings, you have the city of Miami as well as a 2nd map reacheable by boat or seaplane set in the caribbean and featuring many different islands to explore. The atmosphere is just breathtaking. Coupled with previously mentioned game mechanics, you have something worth living. Yet there is something else, there is a speech button. If you are alone, let's say on a balcony contemplating the sunset, your player might say "This is the life man" or "I wish Manolo was here..", out of many lines. If you are close to an NPC, you will stike up a conversation with it. Yes, seriously. Of course, if the NPC you are interacting with doesn't have any prerecorded dialogue, the conversation will stay quite bland. But scattered around the map are NPCs with unique dialogues, with which you can have more complex conversations. So far in my playthrough, how many UNIQUE conversations do you think I have found? The answer is OVER 100 DIFFERENT CONVERSATIONS. Seriously, the game even counts how many of these unique interactions you have found. Yet I've somehow still not found them all. The average conversation is around 5 to 10 lines of dialogue long. The game has over 40000 lines of dialogue. I wish there was a way to explain how perfect the atmosphere is, but there isn't. The only way is to go and play the game. You will not be disappointed.

This post just barely scratched the surface of what makes this game the best on PS2.

Ones that come to mind:
Shadow of Memories/ Shadow of Destiny - One of the most compelling games I've ever played. The objective to travel back in time and change events to prevent your murder in the present is very unique! The game also has a wonderful presence with a town fun to explore and compare the differences within the decades. if you haven't played this yet I deem it essential!
On a side-note, I realized there wasn't any decent online sources for this game so I took it upon myself to expand an online Wikipage for the game:
https://shadowofmemories.fandom.com/wiki/Shadow_of_Memories_Wiki

The Bouncer - Short but sweet 3D Beat Em Up. Offers the thrill of Squaresoft story in 3-hours and offers replay value if you want to go at it another time.

Crash Twinsanity - Easily the best post-NaughtyDog Crash game. Wonderful sense of humour, great level design and great detail put inot the lore of Crash's lore. The soundtrack consists of a capella and something to behold!

Final Fantasy X - The last GREAT Final Fantasy. This game could also be considered the best all rounder - Great story, characters, music, world, battle system, extras bosses etc. I genuinely has it all and is the FF game I easily recommend to anyone new to the series.

Silent Hill 2 - The Horror masterpiece, while many horror games since have been more in your face, I've still yet to experience a game that gets under your skin and as haunting as Silent Hill 2.

Burnout 3 Takedown - Such a diverse arcade racer, the introduction of Road Rage really brought the series to its peak.

Dead or Alive 2 - Solid fighting game with less of the later gimmicks seen in fighting game today (though the last boss is a little cheeky!)

Tekken Tag Tournament - Tekken 3 with top-end PS2 graphics... what's not to like!

Soul Calibur II - Perfection, I don't think the series knew what to do ever since they released this. Great Edge Master Mode which offers 40+ hours of unique challenges  and dungeons - A huge step up from taking fighting games beyond the standard Arcade Mode format.

Fahrenhiet / Project Indigo - While heavily inspired by the Matrix the interactivity the game has to offer is really fun to explore! It also offers one of the best opening levels I've ever experienced.

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy - Wonderful platformer, much preferred it to the trigger happy sequels.

Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2
- Probably the best Action/RPGs games on the system? While the story got way to convoluted for it's own good you can't deny the magic these games have instore.

Metal Gear Solid 2 - Looking beyond the surface level annoyance or Raiden, MGS2 offers a very compelling journey and my personal favourite of the series. The gameplay was a colossal upgrade and still to this day features some of the most intelligent A.I. enemies I've seen in gaming. Try it on Hard/Extreme and watch how their comrades interact rather than just aim to assault you.

TimeSplitters Future Perfect - A much better campaign this time and loads of fun challenges to conquer, I know TimeSplitters 2 put the series on the map but I still find 3 to be more refined and enjoyable.

Zone of the Enders 1 & 2
- Great Mech-Robot Action series, sad how short lived it was.

This List is the of the 4 Call Of Duty Games that Came out on the PlayStation 2 (all these games are 1st Person Shooters)  all great in my own opinion

#4 Call Of Duty Finest Hour
(Description)

well technically this has the same single player campaign as on the "Nintendo GameCube" and "The Original Microsoft Xbox" now with that out of the way
this was the vary first Call Of Duty game that came out on consoles, it's a WWII game that has 3 Different single player Campaigns that you need to beat all the missions in the Russian army. Campaign before, you Can unlock the 2nd Campaign where you are  the British army. then once, you beat the British army Campaign, You than unlock the American Campaign. If you beat ALL the missions in the game and all 3 campaigns on each different difficulty setting. you can unlock new game modes of single play.

If you beat on easy you can Unlock

Big heads mode
Head Shot mode
Ricochet mode

if you beat the entire game and all the missions on Medium difficulty you can unlock
Dead Eye Mode
Shrink Shot Mode

(On Hardest Difficulty?)
Big 'n' Small Mode

#3: Call Of Duty 3,
(Description)

another WWII based First Person Shooter game with 1 single player campaign that automatically switches between different Allied forces of WWII era, you can play as most of the Allies Except for Russian's during a great lengthy campaign

#2: Call Of Duty World At War: Final Fronts (exclusive must have game for the PlayStation 2)
(Description)

first console Call Of Duty game that takes place in WWII with some of the mission taking place in Japan this PS2 version is different then the Xbox 360 version don't know about the PS3 version. "Call Of Dufy World At War" is a Different game

#1 Call Of Duty 2: Big Red One.(THE GREATEST OF ALL FOUR GAMES) in my own opinion
(Description)
Another WWII based Call Of Duty game with only 1 campaign, and you only play as the US Army during events of WWII I think is is the Greatest One in my own Opinion

I will add the games and more stuff later.

But someone know what is command for hide long texts and then with one click make it appear?

- Answering to @undertakerprime

Sure, go ahead.

- Answering to @wartoy

I have never played Ace Combat but I know people actually like a lot the series so I will add them later.

Also cool mini reviews.

- Answering to @oldgamerz

Thank you for being part of the project.
I am not sure about using those colors and big letters, though.
It looks a bit messy for me and I want that people can easily focus in a name of the list.

- Answering to @leonefamily

Pretty cool review, it should be a topic in the forum.

Scarface was also one of these games that were actually released for the Wii.

- Answering to @vivigamer

Pretty cool mini reviews.
The wording is incredible.

I always have problems learning English, but I still love to talk a lot, I need no reason to be kind, after everything I have gone through I found a little peace.

I was only trying to keep my brain active creating that post and the last one

the list. on what I said here it is without all the colors

this is every game in order from decent to great, but I think them all are great
#4 Call Of Duty: Finest Hour
#3 Call Of Duty 3
#2 Call Of Duty World At War: Final Fronts
#1 Call Of Duty 2: Big Red One

(don't go off topic but)
I would like to know if anyone liked what I did,  I wanted to add something a little different, and those posting tools are there so I thought I'd make some usage of them, sometimes a change from the ordinary is good or bad depending on the person. :)

(edit)
I cleaned it up a little

Hello.
If someone wonder what happened with this.
My plans were updated the list with pretty much ALL games for the NA market that I thought were ok-great or sounded interesting (A lot of games)

The problem is that after updating a couple times I noted that the maximum characters available for post is just 20000.

So I can't complete the list I was making

So I want to know is someone has a suggestion about what I could make for resolve this.

My two ideas is

1 - Make  a Google Sheet.
2 - Delete this thread, create a new one with the main post being the first part of the list and then make the first reply the rest of the list.
3 - Just comment here the second part of the list and done.

What do you think guys?
