Only the finest!

Jokes aside, there's so many favorites over the decades that I can't think of any that immediately stand out.  :P

this picture doesnt really justify how much depth the cover seems to have

Not sure what about it makes me love this one so much, maybe that its a better version of the h2 cover

No need to explain myself here.

OG xbox has the best covers because of the ¨live enabled¨"banner most of them have (non platinum hits obviously, those look awful)

I always enjoyed the box art for Dragon Warrior II. While it's not Akira Toriyama's artwork, I can tell that whomever made the cover art was given samples of Toriyama's DQII art since the monsters and characters still resemble they're original versions pretty well (it's not Mega Man 1 or 2 box art levels of bad). I also really like the cover art for Dragon Warrior III and IV that were done by Chris Hopkins.

For me... Would be Phalanx for the Sharp X68000. So crisp.

When I first saw the artwork for Super Smash Bros, I almost lost my mind. I HAD to play it!! This was the fighting game we'd fantasize about, but never thought it could be real.

Phalanx may always be my go-to whenever the topic of good/bad video game box art is brought up—the cover is a meme by now—but quite frankly, I like it; it's telling a story and it's unique.

Other than that, most of my favorite box art are from games from the '80s–'90s where they used to be mostly drawn/painted and often burrowed from movie posters. Probably the best era in regards to that trend.
