so many games o.o I'm certainly lacking in that departement. I haven't found any good bulk deals yet.

love the shelving too. I'm a big fan of people displaying their stuff but I'm always too afraid to leave collectibles out (potential damage, sun.etc)

maybe later I can get a game room with no windows and a big steel door xD

Personally, I would have it no other way than to have things out on display. I mean, what's the point of spending all this money just to lock things up in a box? I've never had, or noticed, light damage from ordinary household lights. But sunlight is another issue entirely, which is one of the reasons why I always leave the roll blinds pulled in my gaming area.

@madmax, you could find a place w/ a basement... but then you have to worry about possible flooding (burst pipes, excess rain water, clogged sewer (eeeew.)).

Yeah, the room I'm in now has no windows, I'm happy about that. Unless there's some natural disaster, I think you'll be fine as far as damage goes, you just need to protect your stuff from the sun. I'm learning that the hard way as my SNES has started yellowing (it was perfect last year).

As for the shelving, it's actually homemade. Previously it was used for books, which explains why it's not too wide (the part with the SNES and Atari games is twice as wide for.... some reason...). There's tons of space though (under what you see in the picture), so I won't have to worry about where to put new games for a while :P

@persona420, first off welcome to the site! secondly, that is an impressive collection of handhelds, I applaud you sir. You need to get your hands on a Game Boy Light to round out that line up!

Also, We are always looking for more pictures to put on the log in page. Could I use this one and add it to the line up?

i debated getting a game boy light but decided against it since it was a japan only release as far as i know. Im in canada and just focus on NA releases.

Ya I made it a point to get a game boy light, but it was kinda expensive. Its really neat though and pretty much the only way I play gb games now, ha.

Ill edit up the picture tonight and see if i can toss it up along with re-upload @madmax's updated pic.

Just make sure you don't put it in any vulgar poses and it should be ok.

Went on a bit of a photo rampage this afternoon. I don't have access to my good camera at the moment so I figured I'd give the camera on my new phone a whirl.

My most-played consoles are hooked up in the living room. This includes the NES, SNES, N64, Wii, Genesis/CD/32X, Saturn, Dreamcast, 3DO, Xbox 360, backwards compatible PS3 and Jaguar. Once I'm able to get a new surround receiver I'll add another switch and get the Master System, Turbografx and CDi hooked up and get the NES over to composite (it's on RF right now).

The pictures hanging above the TV and couch are actually animation cels and character design sheets from the Pac-Man cartoon, Donkey Kong Jr. and Frogger from the Saturday Morning Supercade, Space Ace and Dragon's Lair from their cartoons (not the games), and a small collection from one of the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons.

My NeoGeo upright:

The kitchen furr down being invaded:

My Atari 800xl setup:

And finally a good majority of my games. I've managed to run out of shelving again, going to have to do something about that after I move. My sister hauled all the Wii and DS games off to her room to hang on to until we get the shelving sorted out.

(Yes, I have a few animation cels from the Dilbert cartoon, too.)

The older consoles (2600, 5200, 7800, Colecovision, Intellivision, Odyssey2) are currently packed away until I can get a larger tube TV set up for them.

Managed to dig up a few pictures of my arcade before the house was put up for sale.

These seem to be the only pics I have with the lights on. I was shuffling some things around and installing the audio/video system when these were taken. The Desert Patrol and Avengers machines were sold shortly after these photos were taken and replaced by the Cyberball 2072 (which has since been sold). The Tekken 2 machine is used as a generic JAMMA cab. I swap a number of boards in and out on it. It was set up with a single slot NeoGeo board and a multi cart until I acquired my 4-slot cabinet. We were fortunate enough to have a climate-controlled garage (very nice in the winter).

The video system consisted of four LCD monitors hooked in to a computer system that cycled through various music videos, visualizations, and the wonderful Phosphor-Dot Fossils DVDs which contain trivia and commercials from classic consoles and arcade machines.

About half of the machines have been moved to my parent's new house while the current one is up for sale. A handful of them quit working on me; they can be very temperamental at times. Looking forward to getting settled in at the new place and getting the arcade put back together. This time I'll actually be able to make the modifications to the lighting system that I've been wanting to do.
