Finished playing through all the songs in Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX (3DS) on normal today and saw the credits roll. I've also played a bunch of my favorites on hard and a few on "super hard", and plan to continue playing more. For the most part, I had a lot of fun with it. I like the cute visuals, I really like most of the songs, the Puyo Puyo minigame is fun, and it's nice Gumi was in a few songs instead of just the usual 6 vocaloids. Another nice touch is the ability to change the colour of the note icons, which is useful if you're having difficulties getting used to the defaults. I really only have a couple complaints, the first being the difficulty. Unlike the Project DIVA series, there's only 3 difficulty settings (with the exception of 6 songs that have an unlockable "super hard" mode) and as a result it ends up being a little on the easy side for anyone used to playing a lot of rhythm games. Some of the menu navigation can seem a little clumsy at times as well unless you're using the touch controls. As a result, I've accidentally restarted a few songs instead of resuming after pausing them.

25. Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth (N64)
26. Brutal Legend (XBox 360)

27. Sonic Colors (DS)

A surprisingly fun 2D Sonic game. It is more on the side of run very fast and avoid obstacles than it is the true platforming of the early Sonics. But fun nonetheless, and better than a lot of the later Sonic games. The special stage is especially fun and makes great use of the touchscreen controls.

Two questions though:

1. It looks like I have 1 Chaos Emerald to go. But I can't see any areas where I don't have a Chaos Emerald found. So is there some hidden stage somewhere that I need to access?

2. Is the Wii version of this game as good? I doubt it's a straight port of this game.

Thanks for any help.

Yep, she's in 4 songs in Project Mirai DX. :) Unfortunately, you can't set her as your partner to play games with her. No Puyo Puyo or Reversi with Gumi. :'( Outside of the rhythm game portion, she just stops by occasionally to offer hints or give you things.

Absolutely.

I think everyone should give at least give it a look on YT or something in case they don't want to pay for it.

So  I've pretty much beaten Ys: Oath in Felgana on all difficulties/boss rushes!

Edit: Also got a boring 1cc of Asuka+Asuka, a shmup where you can avoid most of the enemies and dominate by hanging in the left middle part of the screen!

Finished up the last of the 50 missions of MGSV: The Phantom Pain today. It took me well over 60 hours, making it one of the longest games I've played in a while and easily the longest Metal Gear. It was a bit of a mixed bag for me. The gameplay is excellent, arguably the best in the series and one of the best of any game this console generation. The controls are excellent and feel natural. On the other hand, I really couldn't help but be a little disappointed by the delivery of the story. There's far fewer cutscenes than one would expect for a game bearing the Metal Gear Solid name, and it instead relies quite a bit on listening to cassette tapes to give the complete story. This is especially annoying when you're trying to listen to a particularly important cassette when Kaz or Ocelot come on the radio and talk over it while it's still playing. The repeated missions in the second half of the game are annoying and seem lazy. From this I can understand why some other people on the internet seem to call the game "unfinished". Regardless of those complaints, it's still worth checking out if you're a fan of the series. If you do pick up the game, I can't stress enough how important it is to complete every mission to get the full story. You're missing out on something very important by not unlocking and playing through mission 46.

28. Batman: Arkham Knight (XBox One)

Beat this last night.

Fantastic action game with a ton of fan-service, great graphics, great controls, and a ton of content. But if you've played an Arkham game before, you already know all of this. What stands out this time is the Batmobile. A lot of the missions and game design revolve around it. And it makes the game feel like a new experience, while still being familiar to fans of the series.

I have to admit, though, that the story, while still quite good, isn't as good as the other Arkham stories. Still, this doesn't hamper the game and is still a good enough story.

I completed all the side missions, too. Except getting all the Riddler trophies. There's just too damn many of those. The side missions really keep you going because you want that experience to upgrade your suit, Batmobile, and gadgets. And their fun. Well-designed with the side-missions.

Get this one if you have a next-gen system, you won't be disappointed.

Finished all of the songs in Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Extend. Not too much has changed from the first two games aside from the songs available, which I quite like in this one. The game runs more or less the same as DIVA 2nd, by which I mean there's a bit of a drop in framerate when the screen fills up with notes on the higher difficulties. It can be annoying but it's not the worst thing ever. As with the first two in the series on the PSP, it's worth importing if you're a fan of the series.
