Ha, I was going to bury this event in some other post, but I know Toys 'R' Us and some other stores occasionally do these "exclusive" Pokemon giveaways.  If I were still playing the games, I know I'd want to know.  I'll update this listing again if I find out about any others in the future. (I found out about this one through Toys 'R' Us's terrible email subscription.)

Heh, my town has an old-skool theme park near the lake, but it's meant for kids only.  It's been around forever, so adults native to the area have fond memories of it and always want to visit it once more.  However, there's a big sign that says no adults are allowed unless they are accompanied by a child :)

@matt acted as my parent, and I snagged zoroark on both Black and White. Ha

Glad to have gotten you the word on the hot new thing, kiddo ;)
Those store events are always odd.  I never know what to expect and am always a little surprised every time by something/someone.

Hmm, maybe that's a California oddness, cause I just went in, turned on my DS and connected to their wireless signal and left. :P

Ha, I guess I meant odd in the sense that I'm usually expecting  a certain crowd, and it ends up being different.  Mainly because the ones I'm thinking about were Dragon Quest events... there was incentive to being around the other people there because the game rewarded you for all the people you "met."

Ah, ya every Pokemon giveaway I've been too is pretty low key, just go in load up the game, thieve a gift and leave. Most are spread across days too so there usually isn't a crowd. But I could see some one day only event having a mess of people in the store, though I don't recall any massive crowds of pokemaniacs.

The strangest "event" like that for me was PAX East. I turned on Pokemon White, closed my DS, and my husband made fun of me, saying that no one would connect to me. By the time just the Keynote was done I had connected to over 150 people...it was wild.

I really want to go this next year too, since now the 3DS is out and I might finally finish my StreetPass games (after my trip to Vegas, I'm only missing like 9 puzzle pieces, but the thing keeps giving me the ones I already have.)

I'd love to go to a giant event like PAX and just litter flyers everywhere. ha
