Thanks.  Mine is flat but is there a way for me to verify that its a CRT?

If it's enormous and not thin like a panel than it's a CRT.

I would love to get a Philco Predicta. They really are a thing of beauty.

Edit: Apparently there's a company that makes reproduction sets. http://www.predicta.com/gallery.shtml My God I want one.

Supposedly the Sony Trinatrons are the best CRTs for retro gaming. I wish my GX TV was bigger. The sound I have coming from that and these http://www.telecommander.com/pics/links/speakers/alteclansingxa3001subwooferrt/spk-xa3001-box.jpg is amazing in my room.

I'm glad you put this advice on here.  Do you know which year Trinatron is the best and why do you say the Trinitron is best for retro?

Ooh, prett~y! Reminds me of being at the Museum of Electric Wonders and Late-Night Grilled Cheese Parlour. So many spacey TVs; definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in West Texas.

I don't follow that whole Trinatron non-sense. The patent for it ran out in the mid-90s, afterward everyone was using the same tech.

This is the oldest TV that I am currently using, I do have a TV from the mid 80's with dials on it, but it doesn't work very well. I also have about 5 Commodore 64 Monitors and about 10 Similar type of monitors, and 2 CRT HD TV's which are heavy as hell.  :o

Old electronics AND grilled cheese?!?!  Sounds like Xanadu!   ;D

Hopefully this year I'll get my game room done so I can start playing on this.  My previous TV was a 53" Sony big screen, which I used to do all of my gaming on.  Right now, it pretty much just sits there unused, but it's going to be my retro gaming TV once I eventually get my dedicated game room done.
