Game Titles/covers that do not fit...
« on: June 03, 2014, 02:42:42 pm »
I think this may be an interesting topic and I would like to hear everyone's input.  Let's name some games that the titles do not fit the game and/or the box art that does not fit.  I really want to hear more titles that dont match.  I'll start with the following:

*Super Mario World 2:  Yoshi's Island/SNES

This is a game about Yoshi helping baby Mario find his parents.  How the heck does it have to do with the first Super Mario World

*Mega Man boxart/NES

Some one please help me find a way to connect the game to the box part.

Let me go ahead & get this one out of the way for box art ;) :

As for titles...

The Legend of Zelda - honestly, it has never been about Zelda.  That's like calling SMB "Super Princess Peach".  :P  (And yes, I'm aware there is a SPP - *now* - but you also play AS Peach in that game ;) )

Soera, I have nothing to say to you right now lol  :)  You and your Dreamcast, Xbox and 64 hate.  Is there any 360 title that you think is a great game?

There are a few exclusives to the systems you mentioned I find decent. Dungeons and Dragons heroes is the only reason I own an Xbox. Plus the micro-con for the Xbox is probably one of my all time favorite controllers.

Mario Kart 64 is one of the best kart games out there.

You're better than I am, I don't own nor want to own anything microsoft anymore  :P Including the boxes. There are 3 games, I think, that I might want to play and that are exclusive to the boxes, and I'm not getting them for only 1 or 2 games each.  :-\

But boxes can be circular. I hope you can handle an info dump that large. Lol jk.

The original Xbox has a decent hidden gem library.  That's back when they were still actively courting Japanese devs, so there are games like Jet Set Radio Future, Otogi, Phantom Dust, Panzer Dragoon Orta, etc.  Don't get me wrong, it was definitely the least of the 3 systems at the time in terms of its library but it has enough exclusives to make it worth picking up on the cheap now IMO.

The only reason I'll ever own a 360 again - and when I do, I'll buy it for really, really cheap - is Tales of Vesperia.  Still hate MS for paying to make that exclusive in English-speaking territories.   >:(

Yoshi's Island was the first world in Super Mario World. In the game Yoshi's Island the entire story takes place there. -With exception to the final world. That's why it has Mario World in the title. Although the original Japanese title was Super Mario: Yoshi's Island.

Not so much a game as an educational tool for aspiring electronics nuts.  My guess anyway.  Please don't tell me it's a poker game, pretty please.

I would definitely agree with Legend of Zelda, even as the big fan I am lol Zelda is important to the story, but it's always been Links fight, but I guess Legend of Link sounds kinda off? I don't know, Zelda sounds like a fantasy type name which may have helped.

Hmm, I didn't know that Microsoft has once liked Japanese devs. Makes it a little more interesting. And yeah, Tales of Vesperia is the only game I might want a 360 for, I'm pretty sad too that we didn't get it on PS3 over here  :(
