According to Hyperkin news, with Smart Boy you can play original Game Boy carts on the smartphone. Nice idea, but what about the screen size and resolution?

Interesting... I wonder if they will try to make it to fit all the different sizes of phone? Also, it's a shame that it's Game Boy only, why not at least GBC?  :(

EDIT: I see now that it has slots on the side, so width wouldn't be a problem. But if you have a big case on your phone it would still be a hassle to have to take the case off to use it.

Neat, but if they were going to do this, why didn't they make it a GBA one? Then it could play all GB carts.

Or you could just use a GBA SP, or Super Game Boy if at home. ???

Game Gear is the platform that desperately needs more options.

From what I'm seeing on Ebay a GBA SP is at minimum $30-35, depending on the color. I don't see a price yet for the Smart Boy, but if it's more than that I don't really see the point haha  :-\

So the April's joke became true, am in love with the idea but this one is definitely not for me cause I don't own a smartphone neither a cellphone why ?, simple because of this work I totally hate to speak by phone, I attend more than 200 calls per day and when started here the damn managers and supervisors used to call to my personal number after working hours asking for my help and every fucking time that I asked for my payment nobody attend my calls  >:(

I don't want to be horny anymore, I just want to be happy

Oh man, showin' me up  :D But yeah, you could definitely find an SP for less or even cheaper than $30 at a garage sale or flea market haha.

This looks pretty neat. Reminds me of the "Time Machine" that used the GBA's screen and buttons to make a functional Famicom portable:

Huh, I had to look at it for a second to figure out what it was. I think at my local store they have a portable SNES console which this reminded me of. The SNES one doesn't hook up to a GBA SP though.
