Question: What happens to the duplicate games that get deleted that are in users' collections? Do they get reassigned to the correct listing, or is the game simply deleted from their collections? Do they get any notification if a game gets deleted from their collections?

The duplicates are merged together with the original and every owner of the duplicates will now have the original in theirs collection. There is sadly no notification system to let you know if a game in your collection is edited or merged with another game (but i would love to have something like that  ).
