Not sure where to ask about rejected edits, so here goes:
I've recently been updating a lot of Xbox Live digital games, as many of them are using the incorrect images (using the retail box images with the ESRB ratings, etc.) as opposed to the ones from the Xbox site/console interface:
For instance, using the first image here instead of the correct second image for the digital XBox Live title:
Incorrect
Correct
While making many of these updates, I've gone ahead and added a bunch of other official info as well. In this process I have had a handful of my Box Text edits rejected. Sometimes they are approved, and other times they are rejected with no consistency. Considering I am following the instructions in the
style guide, I would assume these would all be approved.
Digital games lack a traditional box, and so they also lack box text. In this case, we can use the description text from the source as the box text. For example, if I were to add The Simpson's Arcade Game to the database, the box text would be the summary that is listed on Xbox.com.
So for the Box Text field I have been copying the summary from the game overview at
http://marketplace.xbox.com/ which is the same as the summaries on the actual user interface on the XBox 360 console as well. However, these were rejected today even though I followed those instructions:
