Original NES Game Loading Issues

I'd put my bet on that 10 NES chip and then a crap connector. Glad to have been able to help you. Now get started on those games.

Wish I had seen this earlier.  The problem was most likely the insertion cradle itself.  The latching mechanism on the front wears down and doesn't actually keep the carts at the required depth to make a good connection, then the lock out chip kicks in and you know the rest.  Glad you got it running though.
