I asked someone once and they told me that it happened to them when they made an entry and the image size was too large.

What is the largest size resolution to upload?  I don't remember seeing it.

Ideally, the image width should not exceed 200px. Because the site will attempt to shrink all images to that width.

When I am editing images, I like to work with them at 400-500px wide.

I've had images 1000+ pixels resized with no problem.  I wonder if it is more the file size?

Hello admins and everyone :D.  I was talking about this issue on a different thread and figured this would be the best place to discuss it.  I think with big box bundle collector's editions the rules regarding "front box art" are too strict.  But I may have just made a mistake. For example Call of Duty valor collection remains pictureless even though I attempted to edit it and got denied.   With game cases and boxes it's essential and neat looking to keep everything just the front of the box but with non scanable items like large boxes, it's hard without having a home picture that doesn't look as good.  Was it denied because I didn't put it under Cart/Media/Disc? I just figured front box art was the main picture.   I have seen a few examples of collector's editions with a picture like the one i'm gonna show :)

This is the current Call of Duty Valor Collection

This is the picture I am trying to upload for the picture.

Here is another but it is also on an angle and will not be accepted.  It also doesn't look nearly as good imo.

If any admins can help with an appropriate picture i'll try to upload one again so when it comes out I can put in my collection :).   Thanks for any help.

Crop the white space off that box only pic to put in as front art. The pic showing all the contents can be used for cart art.

It is good enough for now, but both would eventually need to be replaced with the actual images of box front, and disc for cart art after the game is actually released.

I did exactly this with Ys Origin (PS4) and my edit was rejected...  The stock art images from LRG look dumb so I scanned my copy and uploaded it only for it to be rejected.  I'm going to resubmit so I hope it will be approved the next time.

Well, its an image and better than having nothing there. But it should be replaced with a better one.

There were some instances when I did my PS2 hardware work that I came across things I could only find one image for, and the image was bad. And I felt it was better to have a bad image on the entry than no image, and that some day a better image could be found to replace it. For example this:

But you can find a few entries in that section with bad/questionable pictures.

It looks like the user took the pictures, several entries have the same bed sheets.

It's one thing to only be able to find bad images, but to take bad images seems different.

That one specifically appears to be a duplicate though.

I fixed their entry for Killer7 already, but if it is a dupe then put it in the dupe thread.

I submitted a possible replacement. Not great, but I couldn't just look at those bedsheets  ::)

I had a question about formatting a game's title, specifically both versions of Tales of Fandom Vol.1:

https://vgcollect.com/item/41817
https://vgcollect.com/item/40627

Each feature different cover and disc art variants but have no differences in the actual gameplay. Would this difference be shown with parentheses ("Tales of Fandom Vol. 1 (Mint Version)") or a dash ("Tales of Fandom Vol. 1 - Mint Version")? I tried to change them to the former, but my edit was rejected.

For the record, its sequel also had two variations of box art, and the title was changed to parentheses.

Yes, I changed these two titles because the words in the original title that was there were not on the packaging that I could tell.

We should use the title in the item title. These got caught up because I am currently working on a user request to fix entries that have fan terms in it, such as "version" so that is why I changed those.

For the first two you put, they probably should have the characters as well. There is no difference in between the text on those covers... BUT I see on the backs that Mint version has a girl with dark pink hair and Cless has a girl with light pink hair. There is different text under each of those pictures, but it is too small for me to read it properly. It could be that the titles could have that text in there instead of the 3 characters shown on the cover... IDK. This picture I am referring to is on the back below the barcode. Obviously the SLPS number is different on these... BUT the text "Version" (or as Japan usually puts: Ver. ) is not on there at all and should not be in the item title.

I moved all the e-reader cards into the new category. I now have a question on how to name them. Since it it has all regions in it like the amiibo, should the name have the TLD code in it and drop the eReader series at the end?

For example
Mario Bros. - eReader Series -> Mario Bros. e [NA]

Cards are usually sold like so:
- packs in boxes (retail, hobby, rack)
- packs in blister pack (the pic shown in the entry)

Do we know if these cards were sold in retail/hobby or rack boxes? Are they blind packed or do all packs have the same exact cards in them?

I'm thinking...
Mario Bros. blister pack

or full
