And when an item have been edited to the point where we can't know what was the original item we revert it to the UK/EN variant (if such variant still doesn't exist in the database and if such variant exist of course...).

Yes, for notification purposes, I hope someday there could be some page a user could look at to show items that are in their collection that were updated or where an item they have in collection was merged with some other item. Currently if I have to do a revert on an item (as described in your quote) I will look into the Collection tab and will likely PM someone about having to change it. I think the last one I did for this was one that Blurks put an edit on a game that was made as EN/UK game, but somehow changed to a Germany release. I sent the PM to him to say that I had fixed the entry and he might need to add the version he really has if he wants. I obviously can't send a PM to everyone who has it in collection to say the entry was wrong for a long time and finally fixed. :(

But even I can tell some things are not "correct" with my own collection because of edits/merges in the past. I just haven't gone about to figure it out. The only thing I stay ontop of is the Genesis portion, but yeah... a user's collection accuracy is their responsibility and it isn't super easy to know what has changed.

Yeah, that is one feature that i would like to have on that site, knowing if an item in your collection have been edited in any way (probably not as PM, like you do it manually; and i thank you for that ;); but like you said maybe in another page where users can check those informations in they want)

Yeah my collection too need a lot of work but sadly i'm not able to add any of my games anymore, my scanner just broke down three days ago (it worked for less than a year... well i can't say anything about a 20 bucks printer/scanner, even the ink cost more than that... and seriously for that price the quality of my scans were pretty good, one of the last game i've scanned for example). I can't scan and add any of my games, i'm not in the mood to play and i'm stuck at home with a lot of free time lately so... "Why not doing a little work in the database, like cleaning the only section where my collection is up to date, the European Playstation 2 section !"... that's surprising but it's less messy than what i expected, with all the games that exist for that console and all the variants for the European release i seriously thought i was going to quit after the first page ;D

Oh i have an actual error to report this time:

Las Aventuras de Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius: Jet Fusion (it will be called like this once the edits are accepted)
https://vgcollect.com/item/119067

I ask for the back cover of that item to be deleted, the source of that cover is this one and if you check it you can see that it's marked near the bottom, there is a "By Bl" or "By 81" or something like that on the back cover but that's not why it should be deleted, the best part is that the back cover is heavily edited: all the data on the bottom side is for another game: Onimusha 3  (SLES-51914 and barcode: 5055060922118). I couldn't find any back cover for that variant to confirm if it could be an actual cover error (even if i'm sure it's not, but just in case i keep that picture on my computer to re upload it if i'm in the wrong).

I had two edits rejected to change the color naming of some Japanese GameCube hardware, and was looking for some clarification.
https://vgcollect.com/item/42100
https://vgcollect.com/item/57570

I have physically looked at the wording on the box, and nowhere on the box does it say "Spice Orange" or "Jet Black" It just says "Orange" and "Black". It's a strange misnomer that I've found while doing my GameCube database work

"Spice" Orange box - at the bottom of all GameCube hardware it says オレンジ  or "Orange" in katakana
http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/QCoAAOSwA29Y5eE0/s-l1600.jpg

Jet Black - At the bottom of all GameCube hardware it says ブラック or "Black" in katakana
 http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/WfAAAOSwFdtX0KhC/s-l500.jpg

If you look at the boxes for the Game Boy Player it uses the same naming, in that box in the bottom left underneath the Game Boy Player name in Japanese

I had the same thing happen with the "Indigo" Game Boy Player. It says "Violet" on the box, which is バイオレット in Katakana. I submitted all three of those edits at the same time.

https://vgcollect.com/item/44469

Box image: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nintendo-Game-Boy-Player-DOL-017-Console-Boxed-Violet-Game-Cube-JAPAN-Game-0302-/311755321653?hash=item489610b135:g:ngEAAOSw0j9ZWegO

I'm just confused because one of the Japanese game Game Boy Players in the DB is correctly titled Silver, even though we would call it "Platinum" in North America  :-\

Back image removed. I PM the guy who made it and we'll see what he says. I cannot find this release either.

It seems to me that the common terms used for these consoles are the English ones. For example, I can find "Spice" controllers sold in US and EU, but not "Spice Orange"

They are obviously orange in color and the same type as the Japanese ones.
I cannot find a good enough image of the orange console box to translate it, or find where color is referenced. At least not on the front of the two images I found. So I am going to guess (unless we can find good images of all sides of these boxes) that the Japanese versions are only known to be Spice Orange due to the controllers.

I have done those changes on the three items you linked.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I haven't been paying attention to the controllers so it always confused me why the NA consoles had those colors in the name when there isn't (afaik) any color indicator on NA console boxes (only in Japan/Europe).

The color is along the side of the JP console boxes towards the bottom and on the back of the EU ones. I don't think it says the color on the front - only for accessories/controllers

All these Neo Geo MVS games have incorrect back artwork (mostly fictional or borrowed from AES game boxes) which need to be removed:

https://vgcollect.com/item/61390
https://vgcollect.com/item/108143

Additionally I created a duplicate entry:
https://vgcollect.com/item/132238 <- dupe but with correct title and better artwork
https://vgcollect.com/item/27893 <- original, wrong title, bad image quality, wrong cartridge depicted (real cartridge looks different)

Colin McRae Rally 2.0 https://vgcollect.com/item/46940

Rating is marked as Elspa but in picture only USK rating can be seen. Barcode seem to be from German release so i think Elspa rating is error in this case.
