Did anyone else love this series?  I remember in middle school there was a demo (cant rem if first or second) and it would only allow up to a certain time per game, or you coudl only reach a certain "age".

We always LAN that game (and Star Craft).

I picked up all the games on Steam Sales last month and really enjoying Age of Mytholgies again.  I got to interview Bruce Shelly (the President) and attend the launch party way back when! Great stuff.  Was really sad when Ensemble Studios closed, the mock up art for AoE4 looked great!

Anyone else love this series

I played it a ton with my friend when I was a kid.

I also played Age of Kings on my DS to death as well. It's a limited version of AoE, but still a ton of fun :D
Currently Playing:
DOOM (PS4)

Although I could never get too far in the original, it fired my imagination and I was totally hooked on AoE II & III (offline/single player) random maps and enjoyed AoM's story. MS' closure of the studio signalled to me their complete retreat as a serious publisher, what a waste. At some point in the future, when my new comp has a graphics card fitted, I'll be back onto AoE III's random maps.

A co-worker and I were just talking about this great series the other day.  My kids who love minecraft brought it to my attention that there's an Easter egg for AOE.  From the wiki, "If an evoker sees a blue sheep, it will turn the sheep into a red sheep while uttering "wololo". This is a reference to the Priest unit from the Age of Empires real-time strategy game series, which would utter "wololo" while converting enemy units to their own side, changing their color. The evoker specifically uses the sound sample from the 1999 title Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings.

Back in the day I'd play Age of Empires 2 along with Command & Conquer.
