typically half of average ebay prices at most, but depending on what it is or how badly I want it I make exceptions to this. I can't imagine spending over $200 for any retro game though.

Probably sixty bucks. Lately I haven't wanted to go over 20 though. It's just not worth it to me, even if I play the hell out of the game.

You do realise that the cool guy discount is just getting a fist bump from the seller after doing a Steven Seagal impersonation preferably while wearing sunglasses ::)

True story: I get the employee discount a lot of places by being nice and friendly and asking for the Cool Guy Discount.

Not full price. Depends on the game, but $60 on one game is pushing the limit.

I also get the cool guy discount from my local store usually 30% to 50% off depending on which person I talk to plus they were nice enough to hire my kids.it's the best store ever. But to awnser the question depending on the game 200 is about as high I've ever gone.

Courtesy is contagious. Employees will knock that price down when they realize how much you enjoy gaming.

The maximum I will spend on a retro game is usually around $100 and that is if it is a good deal, like it's normally more than that price.  I have only done that twice so far: Mega Man X2 on the SNES for $80 (Like an idiot 20 yrs ago I sold my friend X2 and X3 for $20 each, oops) and Art of Fighting 3 on the Neo Geo MVS for $90.

I am sure I am not alone that I try to get the best deal possible which is getting harder and harder every day, even Neo Geo MVS prices have skyrocketed in the past year or two and the majority of those games were pretty common.

Depends on:

-the game
-how much 'loose' money I have at the time
-what else I need to buy in the near future
-if there's any additional deals going on
-if the money is pure savings or profits from sold items, hitting a casino with mom, holiday money, etc.

Right now the ceiling seems to be holding right around $300ish, assuming everything aligns for it.
