Sent a PM earlier about this.

For everyone else, the descriptor was rejected because it refers to something else not on the entry. We cannot use a descriptor like "different this" or "variant that" because it implies a comparison to some other item. An entry must stand on its own, and you cannot see the other item with this same name on the item entry page. So for this particular instance, we need to determine what these different packaging styles are called, then we can use that in the descriptor for the two entries.

PM back,

And sorry, but the rules are clear, i have to put something in because otherwise the item gets merged.

If a mod denys that change, then he should make the edit that is right as i cleary dont know what to put in there.

Only if the year is different between the different types. I mean, the year printed on the packaging or disc.

Usually, you only use the year to differentiate different releases, such as Doom vs Doom (2016) in PC category.

Research indicates there are only 2 packaging types for CD-I software in the US:

1. Standard CD jewel case with a cardboard sleeve.
Example: https://vgcollect.com/item/13323

2. Large plastic case with a cardboard slipcover.
Partial Example: https://vgcollect.com/item/13385

This is partial example because the front art on 13385 is the front of the plastic case. It should have the cardboard slipcover as the front art.

For Europe, they seem to have releases both 1 and 2, however they have a different type of jewel case, the one that looks like this:
https://vgcollect.com/item/148573

So It is of my opinion that 148573 is in the wrong category. However, since there are 3 different types in EU, it still needs to be determined what to call this 2nd type of jewel case.

As i explaned in the pm, the barcode, and the item number on the back suggest this game is from the US. If you want to put it under EU is fine with me.

It does have a UPC rather than an EAN, however there are differences between this and the box version. The box version says US on it and on the CD. This CDI Jewel case has England on the box and Germany on the CD. I think we are safe to move the item into CDI [EU] category.

I did happen to find instances of "US versions" of CDI programs sold in Europe, that have a label saying as much on the outer shrinkwrap. It is possible that the Children's Musical Theater is one of these types of releases. We need more information on it.

In any case, we still need to know what this CDI jewel case is. I'm sure it has an actual name.

It will have a name, but i dont know it. Same goes for the big plastic box for the US. Maybe someone knows and is willing to post it?

I always see the larger packaging referred to as long boxes, same with cib 3do titles and early ps1 titles. I have seen a few games that were packaged in both styles. Tetris and Battleship are good examples of that.

chose links because these images are kinda huge, but you get the diff.

For US releases, we can get away with the box games being just their titles, and the jewel case release (if a box version also exists) just have (jewel case) in the title.
