Ni no Kuni for PS3
« on: April 11, 2012, 06:53:25 pm »
Anyone aware this game is currently being translated and coming out here early next year?  The videos look pretty interesting, they have a Hayao Miyazaki feel to them.  I'm not much of an anime fan but I love Princess Mononoke and some of his other movies.  If you know more please share!

I see now that Studio Ghibli (Princess Mononoke, Ponyo, Spirited Away etc)  is involved, hence the resemblance.

I haven't heard about it but it looks interesting. I'll check it out more once there is a release date.

Yeah, I read about that back when it was only for Japan and then last October Namco Bandai announced they are bringing it to the US. What I recall most is that the price was quite high for a regular release in Japan. I'll assume in the US it will be the regular $59.99; Japan was charging about double that when it released.

Wasn't sure if you guys even knew about this, but originally that game was both DS and PS3. I was more pumped for the handheld...but I guess that's no longer a viable option.

They've taken over a year to localize it and it will also include the original Japanese dialog with English sub-titles for you snobs out there. :)

Any mention anywhere of a release date other than "next year" ?

Namco held Global Gamer's Day in Las Vegas recently and stated Q1 2013. That's quite a ways off so they probably won't get any more specific for a while.

Yeah just read the new post on RPGFan that just mentioned the same thing. Hopefully if I get a pre-order in quick enough, Ill be first in line for a collector's set too. I kind of got shafted on the Diablo III one cause the day they mentioned a release date was the cut off for getting that. Since no date is listed for this one, Ill get my pre-order in asap.

I was following this pretty closely for a while when it was still under production. It looks fantastic and I'll definitely be picking it up.
