If You Could Buy Any Arcade Cabinet What Would It Be?
« on: October 31, 2018, 12:45:32 am »
If I was rich I would buy a sit down steering wheel car racing arcade cabinet  only if I had the space to place it. But I would mostly wish for a cabinet that included multiple racing games with it. Playing by yourself in front of just a home television can get boring after a while.

If you could buy an your own arcade room or personal hall, what are some of the kind of games you would want included in your arcade room? Imagine if money or space was not an obstacle

If I could have an arcade hall I would want also this game that you have guns and shoot the bad guys I think  it was like Virtua Cop but it had zombies instead of the FBI guys

This year I finally had enough of denying myself and delaying gratification.

I got an Attack From Mars Limited Edition pinball machine (#21 of 1000).
Also got an Area 51 original cabinet (I am almost done restoring it)
And an Area 51: Site 4 cabinet.

The first two items fulfill a personal pipe dream I’ve had for over 20 years.

Now I am working on phase 2.

Tomorrow I’m putting in an offer on a new home with a finished basement which will become my personal arcade starting with these three machines.

I’m gonna deck it all out with led accent lighting, a custom neon sign, and everything.

Before anyone gets too jealous, yes I am compensating for something but not what you think.

The rest of my life this year has been a complete dumpster fire and it’s not getting put out any time soon.

One of the relatively modern tekken games.

In the past my answer would have been Street Foghter II but I think I’d play Tekken more today.

I hope everything goes good for you, good luck on the new house

I already own one of the ones I would have. Black Tiger.

Other than that, I would buy Gauntlet Dark Legacy 4 player.

Depends on where I would be living. Right now, I live in a place that doesn't have the real space to fit a huge one, so with that being the case, I'd love to buy a Midway Galaga cabaret.

If I move into a bigger place, I'd like a Galaga dedicated upright or a Daytona USA deluxe cab.

I have several arcade cabinets. I’m actually having to sell off a couple. I’m out of room. Cruisin’ USA already found a new home.  :'(

If I were to buy another one, it’d have to be a Crazy Taxi sitdown. I love having a few cocktails and getting a few fares.

I was within hours of owning an R-Type cabinet some years ago, but the game I would say that I defiantely would want is G.I. Joe.

Just to clarify, I am going to just list arcade games, not pinball machines. As much as I want pinball machines too, I feel like there sort of in a whole other league of impracticality so I'm keeping them separate.

1. Virtua Fighter
2. Star Wars Trilogy Arcade (1997) - sit down version
3. The Lost World: Jurassic Park Arcade - sit down version
4. Area 51/Maximum Force - combo cabinet
5. Virtua Fighter 2
6. Galaxian/Pac Man - combo cabinet
7. House of the Dead
8. Cruisn' World - sit down version
9. Daytona USA - sit down version
10. Area 51 Site 4

If you had said arcade MACHINE instead of Cabinet, the unanimously unwavering answer would absolutely be The Addams Family Pinball. Since you said cabinet then it would have to be the sit-down cabinet of Night Striker for pure nostalgia.

There's so many others that I would love to own if money was no issue and space was no object. I worked in an arcade for a few years in my youth during the apparent heyday of arcade cabinets.

This one is a close second, The Virtua Racing deluxe sit-down cabinet

Galaxy Force II

R-360

Super Monaco GP

Neo-Geo "Big Red" 6-Slot MVS

and the last pictured one would be a Baby Pac-Man

Other cabs I'd love to own...Virtua On head to head cabinets, Simpsons/Turtles/Turtles II/Sunsetriders 4-player cabs, Street Fighter Alpha/2/3/III/DI/TS cabs. Mortal Kombat I/II. DK/DKJr./Popeye/Mario Bros. Pac-Man/Ms. Pac-Man (with Turbo), Joust, Mappy, Flicky, Pengo, Atomic Punk, Kangaroo, Paperboy, Toobin', APB, 4-player Gauntlet, 3-player Rampage, Cruisin' USA sit down (gotta pick the school bus), Tron, Deadly Discs of Tron (the weird "sit-down" cab), Star Wars Arcade (the 1983 one, sit down), Dragon's Lair, Space Ace, Rastan, Black Tiger, Turbo Force, Mercs, Gradius/Life Force, Raiden I/II, Bubble Bobble, various other cabs I can't think of at the moment and erm... a dedicated cabinet for my Haunted Castle PCB?  :P
