Your Black Friday 2018 plans (Video Game Edition)
« on: November 18, 2018, 01:00:20 pm »
I'm not one of those crazy people that lives for Black Friday, in fact I feel like the deals for the past few years, on video games at least, have been mediocre for the most part. However, this year I am genuinely excited about a lot of the deals I'm seeing on various newer video games. So what is your Black Friday 2018 game plan this year?

Here's mine:

I am probably going to start at Walmart since they have they seem to have best deals on newer games this year. Specifically I'm going to try and snag the following from them:

Assassin's Creed Odyssey (PS4): $35 - this is one my GF really wants, I don't a have a lot of interest in this franchise
Diablo 3 Eternal Collection (PS4): $17
Dragon Ball FighterZ (PS4): $17 - this one is still a maybe since I'm 90% sure ArcSys will release an updated version soon
God of War (PS4): $25
Grand Theft Auto V: Premium Edition (PS4): $25
Street Fighter V Arcade Edition (PS4): $12

Depending what I can or can't find, I know that Best Buy and Target have a few deals that are equal or close to these. The real wild card is going to be Gamestop which has kept their ad under wraps (mostly) to this point, but they might get factored into my plans as well. I imagine they'll be doing their b2g1 or b2g2 deal like they have in previous years on used games, which means I'm probably be picking up some more PS4 and Switch games.

There is a local independent game store that does crazy Black Friday deals and will likely be hitting them up as well before the day is done.

Stay home, well away from anything which has "Black Friday" written on it.

Black Friday weekend is a dark time for me indeed.

I stay at home with my family hoping the data center takes the barrage and my pager doesn’t go off.

Retail sucks.

My black friday plan was to get the PS4 Bundle with Spiderman but then they announced their deal for the whole week.  Sony being epic with their deals like last year :)

So now my list for black friday is shortened as I spent quite a bit on the PS4.

I mostly want to get

Horizon Zero Dawn Complete : 10 dollars
MLB The Show 18 - 17 dollars

And possibly GOW if my dog let's me.  My dog isn't a big fan of the series.  Has really hindered me playing them.

Nothing.

I pre-ordered Red Dead Redemption 2 and Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee.

Between shooting cowboys and hunting shiny Pokemon I’m set.

It looks like Gamestop has Walmart beat on various newer games. What pisses me off though is how they made their B2G1 on used PS4, XBONE, and Switch games PowerUp Plus members only. Eh, whatever, the membership is garbage and maybe they'll make it available to everyone next year after they sell probably a fourth the amount of used games they did when it was available to everyone.

I will be at home, eating leftover turkey, and playing my new Spyro: Reignited Trilogy.

Screw that madness.

Enjoy that God of War, though, bikingjahuty. Fantastic game, just finished it.
