Author Topic: Did You Ever Play, Or Try Any Casino, Mind or Video Board Games? Thoughts?  (Read 981 times)

We all probably have some of these games if we own a large collection of video game Compilations or  have any "AtGames Flashback Consoles" with the games built into the console itself.

What is some of your thoughts on these three genres, You may have some of these video games in your collection, and I wounder do you ever try these kinds of games? or do you just ignore them when you see them? When it comes to board game video games many people will say Mario Party is great. But has any of you ever try a relaxing game of checkers or chess? I did before! against the computer or maybe you played them with someone special like a friend of family member for example?

Casino games I sometimes try these but get board vary fast. Mind games are the same for me. But I do like to play Jeopardy  in the high school classroom on that Jeopardy game console my English teacher would set up for us student to have fun and play. She made all the topics and answers herself. Class would get into groups and she would operate the console and we had the wireless remotes. :)

I've played a few with varying level of success:

Top shop, Tanto Cuore, Agricola, Monopoly, Pac-man fever, and Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival.

They're generally fine to me so long as the controls are serviceable. >_> Snes Monopoly was unplayable I felt like.

I played the SNES Monopoly back in the day but the game cheated its dice rolls, ruining a lot of the "fun." Competitor AI also was obnoxious for trading. If they wanted your property it was the only deal they would be willing to make with you, you could not trade any other sets of stuff with them. Very annoying.

I throw the casino games on when I'm planning a trip to Reno or Vegas. I like to get the refresher on the odds before throwing my money in the toilet. It makes me feel like I at least tried. LOL

Would you rather play a Slot machine video game on PC or Real Life Las Vegas, Personally I can't see the difference gameplay wise besides the REAL money part :-\

Way back in the late 80’s-early 90’s we (my parents and I) had a bunch of TV game show games on 3.5” floppy, like Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Card Sharks, and Classic Concentration.
I have Monopoly on NES, which was an ok time-waster back then, but like the SNES one mentioned earlier in the thread, it seemed to cheat.

IMO board game games work better on portable consoles because they are good time wasters. I have Life/Yahtzee/Payday for GBA and it’s ok in a pinch.

Never really played any gambling games, they just don’t interest me.
