GOOGLE SEARCH REVEALS AFTER ASKING WHAT IS THE AGE OF THE AVERAGE GAMER
Age breakdown of video game players in the United States in 2018. This graph presents the results of an annual survey among a representative group of video game users regarding their age. In 2018, 29 percent of the responding video gamers were 18 to 35 years old.

MY THOUGHTS:  there is no age limit for gamers in my opinion, I just turned 30 a couple of weeks ago, my mom and dad and my uncle and sister like video games. even my grandma plays at least one video game.

I also heard stories growing up that even senor citizens of the 1990's were playing I can't remember what I heard as far as the console. But I know that even recently I heard a story of a elderly person enjoying modern video games.

anyway have a merry Christmas everybody :)

date of post is Christmas eve 2018

Probably, that's a huge spread.

Yup, sounds about right

Yeah, that's the right age range for the largest age bracket. Growing up as video games became mainstream combined with having the income to acquire the games makes for that.

Yup, that sounds right. That would be the range to cover the NES, PlayStation, & Wii/Xbox 360 generations. It's also the age range that marks the perfect intersection of youthful free time with adult-level income status. In other words, it's when most people have both the money & the time to indulge their hobbies.

Of course there's gamers of all ages- if there wasn't a viable market, we wouldn't make preschool level games or oversized handhelds to support failing eyes. But, the way our society is structured lends that particular age group a lot more leverage in their entertainment dollar. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that's also the average age for people attending movies, concerts, sporting events and theme parks.

18 - 35 seems right to me but it's only 29% of the whole picture so it's not really that huge in comparison to the other age groups.

After reading the last 2 posts, who is the youngest member of this forum? Or atleast from the more active members?

Several years ago I thought I recalled someone on here saying they were 16 or 17. I think if you averaged the age of at least the active members on here I'd say it's probably around 35 or so. I'm 31 for the record.

I'm probably the youngest here. You'd be surprised based on my knowledge of older technology but I'm rather young.

I guess of the somewhat active members i'd say I'm one of the younger people at 23.

As far as inactive people go I've seen some at the 17 - 20 range.
