I recently updated the Box Art for this listing: Sonic The Hedgehog (Alt-Name: Sonic 2006) (Xbox Games Store (X360) [NA]), and the edit was rejected.

There are 2 "Sonic the Hedgehog" releases on the North American Xbox Live:

As you can see, the Sonic 2006 listing has the incorrect Box Art (looks like someone uploaded the incorrect art back on 08-26-2019, and it was approved).
I tried to update it to be accurate (and to prevent confusion, since as of now it looks like 2 duplicates of the classic game port at a glance, and the alt-name is the only way to tell this is "Sonic 2006" version of "Sonic The Hedgehog")

Is there a way to get the art updated to the correct version for "Sonic 2006" and it be approved this time?

Apps are allowed, but only if they are or were from the online storefront. The type of apps we disallow are the ones that are only built-in and aren't on the store. If any of these are of that type, let us know which ones.

From the Platform post on the Adv Guide:

Quote
Built-in Games and Software
Built-in games for a console should not get a separate entry. Examples of this would be Snail Maze for Sega Master System, which is a game you can play on some consoles without inserting a cartridge. This game is considered part of the SMS and should be put into the description of the appropriate SMS console release entries.

Likewise, any built-in games or software on modern consoles that have online store platforms should not have a separate entry created.
Examples of this would be built-in apps that come pre-installed on the Nintendo 3DS and are not downloadable from the platform store, such as Nintendo Zone, Face Raiders, Mii Plaza or the eShop itself. Non-game apps are currently allowed to have entries, such as YouTube.

^From what I can tell this game never actually had an EU release despite a few EU release dates floating around.
Might be due to the publisher being brought out

Hi!
I just found a PS4 game where the standard release has been displaying metadata (pic & item number) for a special release.
I tried to do what I could, but I need a bit of DBA assistance to make things accurate.

PLATFORM: PlayStation 4 (NA)

Star Wars Battlefront II has a long-existing record https://vgcollect.com/item/126853 (created June 2017) which has since Jan 2020 shown very non-standard item number & back box art (having UPC replaced by "NOT FOR RESALE"). Obviously, the vast majority of users showing that game in their collection do NOT have the "Not For Resale" edition...

Usually when I try to correct a mishap like this, my edits get denied (it would be nifty if we could submit explanations/justifications for edits), so here I'm dumping my recently-submitted actions & a DBA request:

Minutes ago I created a NEW Star Wars Battlefront II record here: https://vgcollect.com/item/200169
On that record I specified the correct information for the standard Battlefront II release (which I own and can confirm).
Separately, I also submitted an edit to the original record to change its name by appending this text:  " (Not For Resale)".  That edit is still pending....

MY REQUEST:
Could someone with DBA rights do one of?:
  • Update the original listing (126853) so that 118 of its 119 current users (all but "bigbossman") having that game in their "collection" instead have the new listing (200169) in their collection.
  • OR: Perform a switcheroo for a few key elements between the two records:  SWAP A: Box Back Art, B: Title (assuming "(Not For Resale)" gets approved), & C: move user "bigbossman" from having the original title in his collection to having the new title (I can move myself from new title to old)

I hope that makes sense. Sorry for the verbosity! :)

Rejected edit on alt name of Fight & Rage which according to GameFaqs is the Japanese title for the game. Edit for Switch version was approved recently.  :P

Hi,

This isn't a GBC game https://www.vgcollect.com/item/100063. It looks like there is a correct GB entry here https://www.vgcollect.com/item/14103

Interestingly, the wrong entry has a good photo of the cartridge which should migrate over to the correct entry.

So apparently Sanyo didn't publish their own console?  ???

I submitted an edit for

https://www.vgcollect.com/item/63335

and put "Sanyo" as the publisher. But it was rejected. Most other consoles in the 3DO hardware section have their manufacturer as the "Publisher" field. Why not this time?

From the style guide:

Developer and Publisher
Because the original design of the database was primarily for games, non-game items do not use the Developer and Publisher fields the same way. Here is a quick list of non-game items and which fields are appropriate:
- Hardware and Accessories: Uses Developer field but Publisher should be blank

Any entries representing hardware which have information entered into the Publisher field are incorrect. Unfortunately, once information is entered into the Developer or Publisher field, it cannot be removed by normal means—it can only be updated

Oh, so that would explain why some console entries have something in Publisher field and some don't.

Correct. Make an updated edit for it to be approved.

Edit: Actually, let's wait for tripredacus to get his word on it. I'm finding a conflicting answer, although one not officially from the style guide. Perhaps the style guide needs to be updated.

So far on just this entry:
https://vgcollect.com/item/23134

The Developer and Publisher should not be set on hardware. Normally this is fixed by changing it to "Select" (the first option) but on this entry, when I submit the edit with both cleared, the edits never appear in the approval queue.

Personally, I'd rather not have either Publisher or Developer filled out for hardware entries. Manufacturers—not publishers or developers—create the hardware.
