Made an accidental edit to this listing to differentiate it from the silver disc variant (https://vgcollect.com/item/41301) originally thought the items had different item numbers, but they are the same (the fuzzy 8 looked like a 6 to me)  :o

Are both the blue and silver discs the same media type? Or is the silver disc a DVD and the blue disc a CD?

Back box art is from the Australian release, I submitted an edit to fix the front box art but could the back art be removed?

OK this is a franken entry. What was the original front art? If it was the AU cover, it would have been better to move the entry into the AU category because the front art was from the item submitter.

The front art that you put is from the Italian version (Solo su PlayStation) sans SAIE label.

It appears UK never got a PSP Essentials. There is a "European English" release. It is one of the "yellow dot" releases, and example can be seen here: https://ebay.com/itm/123850004557

I was under the impression it would be better to keep it in the category it is and change the image. Since 13 people have this game in their collections they added the EU version willingly.

Sorry about that, I'll try to find an better European English release image since that one has a giant sticker on it.

We respect the intent of the original creator. If you had created an item in the db, added it to your collection, even if the item was put in the wrong section, how would you feel if someone had come along and changed all of the information on it? Would you care that 12 other people put the then altered item in their collection?

We can say to the people who added something into their collection... say AU game in EU section, that if they cared which version they had, they wouldn't add an AU game into their collection right? So if the AU game gets moved to the AU category because it was originally made in the wrong place, or because the EU game wasn't present, users can then change their collection info if they want.

If it was originally a generic entry that was frankensteined, then OK we could keep it in the EU category and make it the UK or European English version. That doesn't apply if actual data (such as pictures) is present when the item is created. Obviously, the info would need to match. IF the original images were mismatched, then we would have to choose what to make it into to fix it.

We can see from item edit history what came with the entry. For that one, we know the front/back was created with the entry and that the barcode was added later (and, doesn't match the barcode as seen on back image).

So again, if the original front art was AU, it should be replaced or we can remove the Italian front art you put, then remove the barcode and move the entry into AU category.

I would be more upset if someone wrongly changed the region of my item as compared to changing the image. The region is far, far more important. I don't think regions should be changed at all once the item is in someone's collection. It's too messy. And it's ultimately not our concern if the creator gets upset over that because they made a mistake putting in conflicting data to begin with.

We don't really know the intent of the original creator. They may have intended for it to be an EU release and put in the wrong art by accident (I put in the wrong art by accident trying to edit the item after all ;) ). In fact, I scrolled through 20 pages of that user's collection and only found 4 AU games. 90% of that person's collection is either EU or no region. And all the people who have that item are either EU dominated or a mix of regions.

So ultimately we have to GUESS what the original user intended the item to be, because it isn't clear. Because it's not clear, I would rather keep the item where it is. Because either way we have to make people change their collection, and from a practicality standpoint, it's simply better to force 1 person to change their collection as opposed to 12. I mean, what if hundreds of people had this item in their collection? That just doesn't seem right.

But while I disagree that this is the correct path to take, I can submit do the edits to make this an AU release because it looks like their location is Australia based on their forum profile. I have an image of the EU yellow dot release so I can edit the AU entry I made to be in the EU category. It's just more work on our end to remove all the EU data from this release and then move the two items across platforms.

We don't really know the intent of the original creator.

This is no different to how a library would operate. They do not conform the card catalog to the users. They would not put a book in a wrong section because somebody had come by once and moved it, even if 13 people kept moving a specific book to the wrong shelf.

We base the intent by the origin data. The important aspects are the art selected, item number and barcode. If this origin data is not present and was then added later and it resulted in a franken entry, then yes we would reach out to someone who had it in collection to verify what they own and fix the entry. This happens all the time behind the scenes.

If this entry was created as a "blank" or title-only entry, and AU pictures were added later, then yes, we would change the entry to the "yellow dot" release. It wasn't. The item was created with AU pictures, so the item should be moved to AU category. It is not uncommon that EU people add AU games to EU categories, because of the simple fact that you can find AU games in EU because they were imported. You can find AU games on the various EU Ebays quite easily. It is no different from other real-world examples such as EU SMS or Atari games being available in the secondary market in the US, and people have added those EU releases to NA categories here. At least the SMS categories have been fixed in this regard, but the Atari console cart sections still have EU games in NA.

What I really wish for tho, is that there could be some sort of notification system (opt-in of course) where if you have an item in your collection and it had its box art, barcode or category changed, that you could get a notification of it. Then you could adjust your collection if you wanted to in case you had added an item by mistake, or maybe you added a franken entry that got fixed, etc.

EDIT: yes, change your entry you made to the EU yellow dot if you have the art, move to EU category.
I will take care of the other entry now.

Hi,

I created an entry for ACA NeoGeo: Shock Troopers: 2nd Squad. I accidentally put in the Playstation 4 [NA] database. It was supposed to be put in the PSN [NA]. It can be found here:

https://www.vgcollect.com/item/179869

Can someone move it to the correct database?

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi!

You should be able to edit it yourself by clicking on the "edit this item" option on the top right of the record. Once you edit the item, it'll be sent to a queue for the moderators to approve or deny. If they deny your change, you can post to the Error Listings thread to get the attention of a mod there. Hope that helps!
