I just remember it being really easy to get combo'd to death and the only real sure fire way to win fights is spam magic a lot. But I also could have been really bad at it xD |

I’d say it’s easy... once you get the hang of it. However, it is a pretty steep learning curve in the beginning, which might be counter to the question being asked. |

Dragon Warrior/Quest I is pretty short and straight forward. I'd recommend playing the SNES, GBC, or mobile ports of the game over the NES version. If you have the time, you can beat the game in a day or two. |
