Not a video game but a graphic novel/trade paperback. It's video game related so it fits. 

Went to HPB to look for a Diary of a Wimpy Kid book for the Godchild for Valentine's Day. They didn't have it in stock so I went to the trades/GN section to oogle at a crossover book they have that I don't want to pay the price they're asking. As I walked into the alcove I noticed some Sonic trade paperbacks that had gotten traded in. They put them up in their glass case and had $30 and up on each of them. They'd be nice to have but I'm not paying those prices either so I went to look at the rest of their selection.

I found more Sonic trades on the shelf and they weren't as pricey as the ones in the case. Only one was $30 and the rest were $15 and under. Then I saw it. A familiar book caught my eye...



My first thought on seeing this was "Why isn't this in the case with the others?" Then I pulled it off the shelf and was literally stunned.

See, this particular book tends to fetch a pretty penny on eBay. To my knowledge, there's two different printings of this book, a white cover and a black cover. AFAIK the collected material is the same in both (though I might be wrong) but regardless, both books tend to list for a couple hundred, as low as $200 upwards to $500. Now, some of that is price gouging and typical eBay chicanery but nonetheless it's always expensive whenever I see it listed.  Also, they published this in other trade paperbacks broken down into three parts, of which I had the first two. The third part is also pricey, commanding upwards of $100 sometimes.

So back to the stunned part. I was fully expecting this to be priced at over $100...closer to $200 and just not put in the case by accident. Nope. It had the insane price of...

$15     

I checked the label to see if someone pulled a fast one and switched the label with another book. Nope...correct label. They REALLY dropped the ball on that one and I'm sooooo glad they did  . Needless to say we hurried the rest of our visit and went to pay. I did manage to find the Godchild's DoaWK book down the street at Wal-Mart for cheaper than HPB.com listed it for so that worked out (also found one of those Mario LE Switch consoles at the GS next to Wal-Mart).

There's an Alex one out there too, but he's harder to find.  I like a challenge.

Don't pick up Mega Drive games often, I saw a big Youtuber do a review on this hidden gem and looked it up and saw the price start to go up.

it's been quite a while since i've taken pictures of stuff i've picked up and since i want to be more active on the forums i'll try and keep up with my pick ups.

first up some japanese 360 stuff been chipping away towards the full set pretty sure i'm over half way now, i tend to pick up these limited editions here and there whenever i find em for cheap.  :



and some japenese og xbox stuff, very pleased with these as some were quite heavy on the wallet. I personally think auto modellista is the rarest japanese xbox out there, been looking for a copy for over a year and a half. Last month a sealed one pops upon yahoo japan for 30 bucks , quite pleased getting it for that price.

Pretty hard find here in europe can play the non robot version withouth everdrive now.
Ex rental sadly. it came however with the manual wich was in pretty nice shape. pretty unexpected really bought it for gameplay only since I had probotector sega already in excellent shape.

The salty part about it is however that I sold an excellent condition contra hardcorps withouth the manual non ex rental no to long ago   
Still I'm pretty pleased that I got the best contra games both cib for both snes and sega in both pal and usa. the robot and original versions

The glass is half full not half empty got to look at stuff from the bright side.
