Your Specializations/Areas of Expertise?

I know a lot about the overall history of games.  The only systems I know a lot about though are the Nintendo systems and Atari 2600.  As far as series go I know a lot about Pac-Man and Zelda.

I would just like to update this and say that I just received my degree in "I have not played a whole lot of Wizardry games, but I spend way too much time on the Internet reading about them and I could probably give you more information then you want to know about Japan Wizardry spinoffs!"  So if you want to know anything Wizardry that is not story related (Been avoiding spoilers as I plan to play through the series) I could help you out.

Have/are you playing the PS2 Wizardry game(s)?

I've played & loved Tale of the Forsaken Land -but- if you're also playing the JP only ones...I'd LOVE to hear what you have to say about its sequel ("Busin")...

I have not played the PS2 game, the main problem I am having is that I want to build a perfect party in Wizardry 1 so I can transfer it through the first two games, but the grinding is taking forever.  I have put it on hold until baseball season starts so I can level grind on the side for three to four hours every day.  After that I will be going through the series a lot faster and hope to reach Tales of the Forsaken Land by the end of the year.  If you are interested you can actually play through the Japan sequel by following this guide.  As far as I am aware no fan translations have been done for this game, but there are a few listed here for other games.  Some of the Japan remakes of the original games can be near fully translated to English through menu options such as Wizardry Llylgamyn Saga.  I find it fascinating how much Japan loves the Wizardry series.  Just look at the Japan list on Wikipedia compared to the US games!

I don't think it is region free.  For my Japan PS1 Wizardry games I was able to run them on my laptop with a PS1 emulator so you could try that.  I played the demo on mobile and enjoyed it, but would rather own it on console.  I will definitely pick it up when the PS3's become dirt cheap.  Labyrinth of the Lost Souls also had some Japan only sequels!

wow, sense I collect pretty much all video games, I guess you can ask me most anything?

If I had to pick subjects I don't know a ton on is LCD games (like game & watch or Tiger) I never really got into those.
I can't get all technical on ya, like "my game system died, how do i fix it?" I can give you an idea whats wrong, but cant tell you how to exactly what you need to do unless its a common issue and I have fixed it myself. but if you want me to help mod your XBox I really couldn't tell ya. lol
I don't collect a lot of video game memorabilia, like statues, posters, cardboard cutouts etc. I only buy this stuff if i find it cheap and I really like it. I have many cool things the game companies sent me over the years I reviewed games. But I honestly couldn't tell whats rare or worth money. 
Arcade cabinets or pinball machines, while I always thought these where cool and would love to own many of them, but due to price, space and constant upkeep I don't collect these. So I really couldn't tell you what a good price is on one.

Last, while I have many Japanese and European game consoles, I've only been into imports in the last five years. I can tell you from experience on the consoles/games i own but if you asked me "what is a going price on a pokemon japanese version game?" I'd honestly would have to look it up. I usually like to hunt for games that where never released in the states.
But if you have any questions on import consoles, those I do have a lot of knowledge on.

well In a non video game world i would say i am a Chicago expert, in video game land I would say my specializations would be the NES since that is what I grew up with, and recently I have been collecting a lot of Famicom/famicom Disk System  stuff.

Pokemon Breeding & EV/IV Breeding is very easy.

My specializations would have to be Nintendo consoles, since that's what I'm most familiar with and the area which I follow and have the most info compared to other consoles in my collection. I'm also fairly focused on shmups, and although I don't have the optimal library for that stuff yet, I have a lot of information that I've picked over from the few games I have... for now.

I seem to have the golden touch at cleaning up and fixing old systems.

Systems I've restored / enhanced include:

ColecoVision (would not power on or display a video signal. I ended up rebuilding the power supply)
NES (installed a USB CopyNES so I can hook it into my PC and Debug games)
TG-16 (wireless AV mod)
XBox Original (replaced faulty DVD drive, upgraded hard-drive, and more...)
GameBoy Advance (Replaced broken screen)
PS3 (Replaced power supply, cpu fan, applied new thermal paste) all to prevent the inevitable YLOD.
Replaced countless Gameboy cart save batteries.

I'm certainly not an electronics expert but I have a soldering iron, voltage tester, and the ability to troubleshoot and follow directions pretty damn well.

I also usually document some of the more complicated stuff I do partly as a service to others but mostly so I don't forget how/what I did.

If you've got a system you've lost all hope on I might be able to help. I'm also willing to trade repair services for stuff in my wishlist.
