Emulation Test Preparations Part 1

I'll be getting an RG350 later this month! I've never collected video games before.

On my 15th birthday, I got a modded SNES classic with 50 games.

What SNES games can I get first on my RG350? One of my wanted games is Mega Man X2.

Super Mario World is widely considered one of the best 2D platformers of all time

Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy III still stack up as some of the finest examples of RPG Storytelling to date

Goof Troop is a hidden gem, a surprisingly good puzzle game.

Super Metroid and Super Castlevania IV are of course classics

As is The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Enix made some pretty unique games in this era:
E.V.O. Search for Eden has you guiding the evolution of your character from the beginnings of life on earth to the evolution of humanity
ActRaiser was a weird hybrid of action platformer and city builder
Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen was a great strategy-RPG where you build armies out of a variety of monsters and heroes
Robotrek is an RPG with some interesting game mechanics around building robots to fight for you

EarthBound is of course a classic for it's goofy humour

Uniracers is an unusual unicycle racing game that's quite entertaining

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy might not hold up to modern standards, but it's certainly unique in being an early example of truly 3D combat.

Uncharted Waters, and even more so, it's sequel Uncharted Waters: New Horizons is a combination RPG/Tactical Strategy/Economic Simulator/Open World Exploration that has a lot of depth and complexity.

If we  delve into the realm of Super Famicom games, Clock Tower is a survival horror that's legitimately frightening

The Donkey Kong Country Trilogy are of course excellent

Lemmings 2 is an amazing puzzle game.

All in all, the SNES has a solid library and there are few games that are totally unenjoyable. Pit Fighter is one of them. Possibly the worst game on the console. Don't play it.

Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse
Plok
Doremi Fantasy
Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Bust's Loose

Phantom 2040 is another one of those "hidden gems"

Metal Marines is a fun strategy game

Cybernator and its unofficial sequel Metal Warriors are two good run n' gun games

Zombies is a lot of fun, run n' gun shooter with a B-Movie feel

Space Megaforce/Super Aleste is the best shoot 'em up on the system

And Rock n' Roll Racing is always fun for a round or two

For my taste space megaforce is a bit overrated. it's one of the better shootem ups on the system yes.

but it's not the top tier shootemups on snes If you'd ask me.

Contenders for the top for my taste are the parodius games, un squadron and macross scramble valkyrie
