I just wish I knew if demo counted or not.

@dhaabi at what number of games am I now exactly? I cna use that number to find out if the demo does count or not  since I have 32 umd movies  so I should take that number you cna give me add the umd movies and compare to the current displayed number

I don't have that kind of back-end information to know specifically if Demo items count toward the badge total, so wait until an Admin can reply.

considering they are count seperate don't think they do, that being said in this case the demo's wouldn't get the guy over the 4K mark.

umd video's aren't demo material but they ain't games either so also not counted

You wouldn't know from sworddude's comment. They have no idea how the back-end of the system operates and can only speculate.

With that said, I've confirmed Demos type items have no value toward the badge total. Only Games and Games - Digital types items do. Why the badges function like this to begin with is something I've wondered about for some time, though.

For Demos, it depends. The item itself doesn't have a type, the category they sit in does have a type. That is one reason why we did the category re-organization, to fix major instances where items were being counted as the wrong type. That would happen when there was a single category that would have games, consoles and accessories in them.
So if a Demo is in a Demo category, it counts as a demo. For Demos that are in a Game-type category (because that platform doesn't have a Demo category) then it counts as games.

It should be automatic.

Your profile also says you don't have any edits. DB backend confirms this. Have you never actually edited an item before?

I don't know how that could be true- I've edited several items and even added a few new listings over the years.  Hell- I submitted some edits a few weeks ago that I worked out with dhaabi for the Ishido/ou series.

I can't explain the name thing- I just created a username 7+ years ago- until you pointed out the capitalized name- I didn't even notice that mine was and most others are not.

Even in the database it shows 0 edits. I suspect that these things are related, as if there is something in the code doing an exclusion on updating your profile that is not being done due to an error. I can't see all of the site logs to know what it could be. Jason will have to take a look at it.
