Back to Edit page after Submit
« on: March 11, 2025, 05:13:47 pm »
Not a rejected edit per se but something weird happens when I try to reset the front image to Sonic CD on japanese MCD:
https://vgcollect.com/item/32322
(For the record, here the image in question: https://info.sonicretro.org/File:Scd-box-jap.jpg)

Whenever I hit submit, instead of getting back to the item page with a notification, I loop back to the edit form page, and presumably nothing arrives on mods plate, since this edit was not validated while later ones were.

I have just uploaded the image and everything seemed normal, haven't heard of this issue prior. Can you try it again now?

I confirm I can see the image, thanks!

I tried again, same behaviour: I go back to the form instead of the item page on hitting submit.

Unable to reproduce. Check on your end regarding input device. There are at least two scenarios where this can occur that I'm aware of:
- using key/button macro type program to send backspace character on action
- 4+ button mouse, where default side buttons send backspace character code. If you are accidentally pressing the side button or the mouse is worn down and the side button is pressed internally when other buttons are pressed or when housing is squeezed in a certain way.

Form submission is not governed in any sort of way that would be differentiated by browser or other client configuration. Form only goes one way. If it were to happen to one person, it would happen to everyone.
