Billy Hudson from The Game Chasers youtube channel passed away

I took a break from work to check Facebook this morning when I found out this incredibly sad news. Apparently he had a brain tumor that needed to be removed a few weeks ago, which is likely had to do with his untimely passing. The Game Chasers was probably my favorite Youtube channel for most of the 2010s, especially when I used to hunt games in the wild every waking minute I wasn't working. Billy and Jay and their filmed game chasing adventures were a massive contributor to me getting into video game collecting and tracking down deals. This news is just so incredibly shocking and sad.

I wasn't seeing any videos in my feed form them in a while... until 3 weeks ago which was him at the ER because of a Brain Tumor and the update. Saw a few days ago he posted on X that he was still alive and had 3 brain Surgeries scheduled. Then Thursday I saw his cousin's post (Redneck Chris) about it on X last night. Don't know why he deleted it, but then I saw Jay's post and... It actually caused me to drop my phone. This just hit differently. Been watching the Game Chasers since I found them through AlphaOmegaSin (it was a rant video that I can't seem to find on there channel). And backed many of their DVD and his Movie project. He's going to be missed

I used to watch them years back when I was more active with actual classic game collecting, them, Pat, etc, so I hadn't seen anything in a long while with them, but it really sucks to hear, especially since it seems like it might've come on real fast.  Very tragic.

I had already started collecting when I found out about The Game Chaser's youtube channel. In fact, I started subbing the same day episode 10 came out which had Terrance from Charge Back Forward in it. They certainly contributed heavily to me getting even more into collecting and especially hunting for deals which I had just started doing around the time I discovered there channel. Like you, I backed the several of their DVD Indiegogo campaigns as well. Admittedly, I stopped watching thei show regularly a while ago, mostly because my enjoyment of hunting for deals declined heavily with the rise in popularity video game collecting saw in the late 2010s, but also their show ironically suffered because of this too. The deals just weren't there like they were in those first 3 or 4 seasons for the most part. I still found some of the later episodes entertaining, but my fandom of The Game Chasers was a crucial part of me being a collector from around 2011 until about 2016 or so.

RIP Billy. I've watched most episodes of The Game Chasers + the movie (which is currently free on Tubi) so I'd consider myself a fan of his. They've also featured at least a dozen other YouTubers on the show over the years that I've watched a lot of which I think says a lot about them.
