Do you ever buy Non-Original accessories
Cartagia:
When I was younger I was almost exclusively buying third-party accessories. First party was expensive! I've still got a few of them around somewhere, but now it's first or second party for everything.

For controllers, I usually hate to, especially for the Gamecube, nothing has ever been able to recreate the quality of the OG's there.
For the first Xbox, I have found pretty much any controller to be perfectly serviceable. Every other type of accessory besides controllers I love third party. Link cables, memory cards, and anything else I think is just great to have a cheap, out of the box version of. Tomee, PowerA, and Hori all have my heart.
What I desperately want is for any 3rd party company to step up and reproduce the Gamecube LAN adapter that slots under the console. It still costs around $99 on eBay and although I know there's very little market for the 2 games that it supports, I really want to see a cheap version of it so that I can play kirby airride and mariokart double dash with all of my cousins.

With controllers, always original. As a child i used to play Silent Hill 2 with a 3rd party controller and couldn't figure out why my attacks were always the same (as in either one handed weapon swing or full two handed jab) and i realized years later it's because the 3rd party controller didn't have pressure sensitive buttons so tapping or holding onto X would always be inputted as the same force. So never again i said. When it comes to SNES or N64 i cannot handle stiff buttons or d-pads. I'll sometimes play F-ZERO 99 and it really bugs me that the SNES controller for the Switch is super stiff which makes me suck at the game (I'm actually really good i promise :P)
Now i do use 3rd party multi-taps for PS2 because every OEM one i have ever owned tends to cause my console to not turn on at all for some odd reason.
Also i definitely use 3rd party cable extensions as long as they work idc if they are OEM or not hehe.

I dont seek them out but there are some examples of third party controllers improving on OG. In particular the modern N64 enhancements with actual joysticks. Emphasis on "joy" lol. The mad catz PS2 controllers were really good. And Genesis had a lot of 6 button turbo off brand controllers that worked great.
But typically 3rd party is a massive downgrade. I have 1st party controllers for each of my consoles. I find hyperkin, mad catz and razer companies to make decent alternatives but I prefer tried and true.
zenimus:
"Let's play Smash Bros!! I can still beat you even with the Mad Catz controller..." - something I probably said in 1999
