Is it just me or does Marvel Super Heroes on the sega saturn have some severe slow down issues?
Could it be because mine is the japanese copy?
I'm also using the Action replay 4 in 1 cart and it doesnt seem to help if anything it makes it slower.
Am I just crazy or does anyone else experience this?

I don't have it but when I played it over at a friends house way back when I do recall it having some pretty bad slow down so we never really played it. I'm not sure what kind of memory card he was using though.

US version doesn't have any/much slow down because it's set to run with lower ram, the Japanese version came with a specified ram cart, and if you're not using it...well...you know...

Supposedly the Action Replay Plus 4m makes up for the need to have the ram cart, so if he's using one of those he should be OK on the extra ram issue. Unless the 4 in 1 isn't the same thing. (I'm not at a PC to double check atm)

In most cases that 3-1, 4-1 cart should do the trick but I know some of the RAM carts that came with Saturn Imports were more than just video memory and had game files stored on them.  I don't know if this simply improved performance or was required for the game, I also don't know if Marvel Super Heroes was one of these games.

After doing some looking, I'm pretty sure Marvel Super Heroes did not use a RAM cart.  Satakore.com is an amazing site that documents all things Saturn.  Here is the entry for the JP version:

Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter does use a 4MB cart.

Oh, that must've been what I was thinking of then. I guess it just lags then.

The Japanese version was designed to be used with 1mb as an option, but the US version is not... or its hidden from the user.
