Pre-ordered my regular Black New 3DS since I could get it for 55 bucks off the price.  Still bummed I can't get the Majora's Mask one, but oh well.  Should get both that and my limited edition Majora's Mask sometime the week after next.

I'm in the same boat as you.  I wasn't crazy about the colors being offered, but I keep telling myself that it's going to get modded anyway, and I have to let it go.  Thankfully we were able to get one of the MM CEs as well, and we'll be anxiously awaiting the Monster Hunter 4U CEs.

I was almost tempted to just wait awhile to see if a new bundle would come out, like a Xenoblades one or something, but there's no telling when one will show up and there's a few games I want in the next couple months.  Kinda the first time I've been hyped for the 3DS so far lol

Same here! Part of me wanted to hold out, but my reasoning was that I wouldn't want to mod a limited edition console anyway.  But yeah, if I weren't planning on getting it modded, I would've felt even *more* conflicted.  But I did really want to play Monster Hunter since it'll be my first one.

I'm assuming that the video output goes to your PC, yes? It sounds cool to be able to output 3DS games to a TV from a PC.

Yup, the two modders you'll usually see named off when people talk about 3DS modding is Loopy (3dscapture.com) and Katsukity (3dsvideocapture.com).  They're often mistaken for each other (as you can tell by the URLs), but the big thing is that folks usually care about is that Loopy is US-based while Katsukity is Japan-based, and Katsukity offers a lot more in regard to what systems they will mod.  Loopy currently only does DS and 3DS (non-XL, non-New) but is currently working on the XL boards and the New 3DS XL.  He also just put up the mod (for self-install only) for people to plug in various controllers into their 2DS/3DS/3DS XL.

You should expect to pay about $200-$250 for the installation of a capture card into your 3DS, though he hasn't put any prices up yet.  I have a DS modded from him, and that only cost $75.  No telling if the regular 3DS capture card will also go down in price.

The video output goes to your PC, so you can play 3DS/DS games on your computer monitor.  It works great for my modded DS!  The original DS's screen is pretty terrible compared to a 24" computer monitor, ha.

Put my pre-order in for Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy LE. The Famitsu review wasn't stellar, but I dig the art style and it's a dungeon crawler, so I figure it can't be too bad.
