I've been absolutely floored by some of the comics that have surfaced at the local comic shop. The past 6-8 months have yielded such gems as Amazing Fantasy #15 (first appearance of Spider-Man), Amazing Spider-Man #1 and X-Men #1; all comics I never thought I'd actually get to hold, never mind own.

I ended up finding some really awesome CDs on Wednesday:

Edward Scissorhands Original Soundtrack by Danny Elfman

And one of the greatest finds I've ever had:

Re-Animator: The Definitive Edition (Richard Band, La-La Land Records), #465 of 3000 copies.

All for a dollar each.

Stopped into Barnes and Noble on the way to see Pacific Rim tonight. Turns out they have most of their fancy hardcovers on sale for $10 each! So I picked these ones up to add to my literature collection.

I had to grab that Star Wars book. The cover is freaking sweet!

I LOVE those Barnes & Noble fancy hardcover books.  We've got the earlier version of the Poe collection, Aesop's Fables and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.  They look awesome on a shelf or coffee table.  And yes, that Star Wars one has an awesome cover

I didn't find much for games this weekend, but I did pick up one really fun item:  a vintage Masters of the Universe Castle Grayskull, with all of the accessories, instructions and the original box.  The box is actually in pretty great condition -- like it's been sitting in someone's attic since 1983 and they just pulled it out this weekend.  I had one when I was a kid, but I'm not sure if it's still around or if the parts are with it or not.  It certainly doesn't have the box with it.  Only paid $10 for it too!

Who would keep something for 30 years only to get rid of it for $10? Odd but thats a hell of a find for you! I dont collect He-Man in any form but I would have jumped all over that myself.

That's awesome!  I loved He-Man. My wife got me a couple of figures last Christmas. I still think they look cool, even if they have stupid names.

She was asking $15 for it, but I only had $17 on me and she lowered the price to $10 without me even asking.  I think they just wanted to be rid of it.  They also had a She-Ra castle in about the same condition.  Should have bought that one too.  But sometimes I get so focused on one thing I ignore other good deals looking me right in the face.  That's how I passed on a boxed and complete Odyssey1 system last year, because I was so focused on the Power Glove that I found
