No joke it's over 90 with high humidity here in central Ohio

It's been hot as shit for over a week now in Missouri.  High 90's and last Thursday, it was 101 in my car.  That was after driving for 30 minutes.  When I first got in, the temp said 108.   :o

This fluffy guy is sweating in places I didn't know I had sweat glands.   ???

I found this on Geek.com in a discussion about volcanic activity on Mars.  I think it is my favorite thing on the interwebs today!

"OMG...take 16 hours of geology at some community college. You'll probably enjoy it. It's fascinating. Oh wait, colleges are taxpayer supported. And that's socialism. Don't educate yourself or your giving into socialism. In fact, stay away from roads, the internet, water, light, milk, and other socialist things. OMG,, we're fucking socialists and we didn't know it. Where's my ar-15. Time to make america great again."

Flea markets continue to become even more pathetic as the years creep on. Stopped in at one, hadn't been since last year. The main game dealer lost their mind, everything is higher than eBay now. It really annoyed the heck out of me, just poking around through their Atari 2600 stuff, each game individually priced. Atari games individually priced?? Are we getting to that point?! Oh, what's this? Wizards of War - $16? Choplifter - $10? WTF is wrong with these people!?!?

I'm not usually rude in person, but it never felt so good to be a smug jerk when I came up on this couple selling a few games. They had Stubs The Zombie front and center. Saw the price tag - $40. Shook my head and turned around, they shouted "make us an offer", but I didn't acknowledge them, just kept walking away. I really hope no one bought it.

Tried to deal on a big lot of Genesis controllers in an offer to buy them all from a lady, and she wouldn't budge off of the individual price. No counter offer, she just says no.

This is what flea markets or swap meets are now. They're nuts. A circus. A waste of time.

Yup... I see this at yard sales, thrift stores, and pawn shops nowadays.

I don't even bother with them any more.  It's the same annoying situation I saw during the big comics boom of the early 90's with prices artificially rising.  I'll be glad if/when this video game collecting bubble bursts.  Then prices can return to something less ridiculous.

That's really irritating. My last experience at a flea market was great, but I can totally see all of that happening.

For the most part, the fun that comes from finding stuff outside the Internet is gone. When your favorite stores start going above prices on eBay, then there's no point in going at all.

Yup, and I've talked to those guys, there response is always "If I'm going to sell for ebay values or less, I'm going to close my store and just sell on ebay".

In some ways that's upsetting, but in other ways it's just as irritating as the flea market thing.

I don't know, sometimes they are just plain stupid.  Guy told me that, then proceeded to sell me $300 worth of games and stuff for $80.  So sometimes it's good to just smile and nod.

The bubble will never burst IMO.

That's the thing though people in the middle of it never do. just look back at baseball cards, the housing market, tulip mania, dot com bubble, etc just to name a few of the hundreds of bubble bursts.
