Just don't put anything in a cardboard box that is touching a garage floor. Found out the hard way last weekend with my comic collection. I had to replace all the long-boxes on the bottom row and get pallets to put them up on due to moisture.

I built mine using 6 6'x6"x1" wooden boards, 36 wood screws (I think #8 2-1/2" screws), a circular saw, a couple of angle clamps, and a bunch of empty DVD cases.

6' tall, 3' wide, 6" deep.  Works great for UGC and DVD size cases.

I forgot I also use a 3'x1'x1" board for the base and sandpaper to get rid of any rough/splintery parts.

I think the cost (not including the saw, angle clamps, and empty DVD cases) is about $25-30/shelving unit.  6' tall, 3' wide, 6" deep.  8 shelves, 9 if you count the top of it.

I think folks normally do 2' wide.

My first major shelving unit cost me about $300 and it doesn't hold what 2 of these can hold... and it takes up about the same amount of space.

That's pretty neat, they did something similar with Bloodborne when it came out I remember.
