Mr. Gimmick. (although it is probably best to own in emulation. An ebay search brings nothing up) But Pat the NES punk did an insanely convincing video for it. And it is indeed fun.

EDIT: As the video states it is available through retrousb.com So, no emulation is needed to own it.

It's funny because I was just about to start a topic like this but for the Super Famicom :D

I have heard great things about DoReMi Fantasy: Milon no Dokidoki Daibouken

Duck Tales 1 & 2 for NES. After the Super Mario Bros. games, it's the best pure-platformer on the NES. Sublime controls, nice graphics that reflect the cartoon, great level-design, and some of the best music on the NES.

Pac-Man World 1 & 2 are really good, too. And I never hear anyone talk about them. I spent a lot of time on those games. Definitely not a traditional Pac-Man experiences, though, which is why I'm sure many people didn't like it. But if you can accept it as just a 3D platformer, then you'll have a blast with it.

Cool Spot on Sega Genesis and SNES was pretty good, too. Not as good as Sonic or Mario, but as still it's a surprisingly good platformer with some impressive graphics for the time; especially considering it's nothing more than a licensed-game based off a forgotten advertising mascot for 7-Up.

I don't know if its underrated but one of the few platform games that I enjoy is JJ and Jeff on the TG-16. Its a slower paced and (to me) easier game to play and it has a unique charm about it that I really like.

One of the reasons I prefer the Genesis over the Super Nintendo is because it has platformers and other games that had one game and very very fun to play.

jewel master is a very fun game with a game play twist, you have to move around the elemental rings on your hand to choose what kind of weapons you use, its hard to explain, so go check it out.

Mystic Defender is a game that I really recommend, I like it more than Jewel Master, it doesn't have any gimmicks like jewel master, its just great action.

Ristar is a very good one.

Another that is kind of in the same category is Decap Attack.

Agreed. Klonoa 2 was one of the 1st games I picked up for the PS2 when I bought it. I had never heard of the 1st one, but I liked the art and that it was a platforming game, so I decided to try it out. It's really cool, and the 2.5D was awesome. I'd never seen anything like that before and was blown away by it.

Now Playing: Persona 5 Scramble, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Kart 8

Did you ever find and/or play the PSX (first) Klonoa game?

Blue's Journey (AKA Raguy) on the NeoGeo is fun and also has two player co-op.
