BurningDoom's 2016 Beaten Games list:
1.Back to the Future: The Game - 30th Anniversary Edition (XBox One)
2. The Walking Dead: Season Two (XBox One)
3. Shovel Knight (Wii U)
4. Avengers Mobile Game (Phone)
5. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 (XBox 360)
6. Far Cry: Primal (XBox One)
7. Super Mario Bros. (NES)
8. Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (PS1)
9. Wolfenstein: The Old Blood (XBox One)
10. Strikers 1945 (PS1)
11. Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride (DS)
12. Raiden III (PS2)
13. Dragon Warrior II (GBC)
14. Samurai Warriors 3 (Wii)

15. Dragon Warrior (GBC)

Since I was playing through the rest of the series, I decided to play through this GBC version to see the differences between it and the original NES version I played. I played it via the Game Boy Player on the Gamecube. A little better graphics than the original NES version, a little better sound, and a better user-interface (no more telling the game you want to open a door or chest, or that you want to go up/down stairs). But otherwise, still the same, simple, RPG.

On a roll lately (or as some might say, "maybe spending too much time gaming".)

Beat Shovel Knight two weeks ago. Beat Ori and the Blind Forest today all areas but 2 completed 100%. Those last two at 99% are going to bug the hell out of me since whatever I missed does not show on the map. :/

I'm really enjoying this playthrough the Dragon Quest series. And this was no exception. Nice prequel story that serves as the original legendary story of Loto (or Edrick for the NES players). Lots of secrets to discover and a large world to explore here.

First up, I beat this one last night.

Great game if you're a WWE fan from the Attitude Era. The storyline mode follows Stone Cold's career from his debut in WWE to his final match with The Rock. And the presentation is fantastic with full video packages explaining the storyline before each match.

The controls, however, seem to be a bit overly complicated and will take some getting used to at first.

18. Bionic Commando (GBA) (via Capcom Classic Mini Mix)

This is the same game as the NES game. Straight port. Although I'd swear some of the swings were just barely tweaked to make it a little less frustrating. And it's still a 2D platforming masterpiece with an amazing soundtrack! Love this game. Well, at least until the last couple levels. Some of those swinging-sections are punishingly difficult at the end!

Very -VERY- minor spoilers below.

I finished Valkyrie Profile for the who-knows-what-number time last night. I got the A Ending, and every time I do so, it feels like I'm witnessing it for the first time. I won't be going through the Seraphic Gate, even though my 20 hour play time makes me want to continue playing.

I've been on a roll lately! I've been getting a lot of games finished. 8)

This was a great little RPG for the time. Very basic, but that doesn't mean it's bad. If you like early Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, or other early JRPGs like that, then this is just like that, but with 16-bit visuals rather than 8-bit.

I earned the platinum trophy in Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness last night. For the most part, it was a fun ride. By the time the final trophies "dinged" I was ready for it all to be over. No spoilers below; just some thoughts.

The game received so much toxic criticism before a release date in the US was announced. The majority of it was unjustified. The game was not less than "20 hours long." The game was not "a step back for the series." The combat was not "a downgraded version of Till the End of Time's battle system."

If there was one huge flaw to mention, it would be the so-called "seamless transitions." The seamless transitions of cut scenes was annoying at first, and then it became a chore during my final play through. This is a modern game, and not only am I unable to skip cut scenes but I can't even advance the text. Ridiculous. The person who made this decision should be removed from any further projects with the series because that was just awful.

Everything else about the game was standard Star Ocean stuff. Item Creation was fun, the story was standard stuff and the Role system was unique. Battles started relatively simply but at some point, numbers showing damage were flying every which way. I really liked the characters, and the Private Actions allowed me to learn more about them than the story offered. But, I would have to say my favorite was Fiore. I knew she would be the moment I saw her outrageous character art, and I was right. She's the perfect combination of smart and sexy, plus she is awesome to use in battle.

The quest towards platinum wasn't as bad as it was in The Last Hope, but I did have to leave my console on overnight to earn one of the Battle Trophies. If not for that, my play time would have been much less.

Overall, I had a great time with this game. Now I can look forward to Exist Archive coming out this October and give tri-Ace some more much needed support.

Just finished Alan Wake for the 360 using backward compatibility on the Xbox One.

Holy crap what a good horror game. Best storyline I've experienced in a horror game yet. It really pulls you in and compels you to see it through to the end.

And damn... What an ending.

Now on to the dlc and American Nightmare!

God Eater Resurrection- I had to play through ot to prepare myself for 2 since I technically never completed the Burst story on PSP. Glad I did cuz the game benefitted from the improved graphics and gameplay.

Onimusha 3- while my favorite looking in the series the constant back and forth through time to solve pyzzles got tedious. But after owning the game for years I decide to load an old save since I remembered the story just never beat it. I FRIKKIN WAS IN THE LAST HOUR OF THE GAME AND HAD SHELVED IT ALL THIS TIME INSTEAD OF FINISHING IT!!!!! In all seriousness I seem to have this problem with games having had a similar experience beating Metal Gear Portable Ops and Peacewalker in the same afternoon cuz I stopped playing them at the end.

Not bad. But not as good as the old-school entries, IMO. A little too much leaning in the action-direction and not quite enough in the horror-direction. But still a big step-up from Resident Evil 5. The story kept me just intrigued enough to continue.

Now I'm going through the Raid Mode. Just started it, only beat the first two levels.

If you haven't already, you should play Alan Wake.

I just finished the sequel/side story:
Alan Wake's American Nightmare. It's a short game but very heavy on story!

Both the first and second games are worth playing by any Resident Evil fan.

I actually like Alan Wake better than Resident Evil story wise.

Great transition to handheld with this one! Good graphics, fun gameplay, and tons of gameplay (I was around 15 hours when I finished this). Plenty of unlockable characters and unlockable missions, too. The item store keeps you going back to earn more gold, too.

Nothing really new here, though. If you like Samurai Warriors/Dynasty Warriors games, you should really enjoy this one. If you don't, then there's nothing here to entice you.

I finished the story of Diablo III last night.  Wow, that was a great game.  I enjoyed the shit out of it.  It's a little only the easy side.  That may have been because I tried to do everything as I went.  Damn that was good.

I played through it when it was new, but it's been a while. So it was about time I played it again. Still a great game, especially once you get past the village. But I STILL think the classic RE games are better. Zombies and monsters overrunning Raccoon City has a way more classic horror movie feel to it.

I'm trying to decide if I want to play through the RE games on GCN or if I want to wait for them all to be inevitably released for PS4/X1.
