Heh, I cheated and found out what game it is, but since I've never heard of it, I thought it wouldn't be right for me to guess.

I went to find what it was... turns out the reason I remember the dragon and the characters in the second picture is because I saw the game when I was younger in stores and thought it looked cool, but I never paid attention to what the title was.

Well, the game is Beyond the Beyond.  I am a huge Shining Force fan and played the hell out of them when they came out.  This game is by the same developers for PS1, it was a non-strategy based RPG.  The music and combat are very similar to the Shining games.  It wasn't very popular, I consider it a decent game but it was bashed by gaming magazines for being simple with a cookie-cutter story.  I loved it for it's Shining Force feel...

Yeah, I had never heard of it until I Google Image searched it.  As much as I played RPGs back in that time, I realize there were so many on the PS1 that I'd never heard of (but should play).  Oh Sony... what happened to our mutual RPG love?
